Sundays with Sam - The Sunday Post

Sundays with Sam is a combination of Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

My Week in Review

To all the fathers out there - Happy Father's Day! We are actually gathering in my sister's yard today. It will be our first family function. Since we are also celebrating my niece's birthday and probably giving some acknowledgement of my nephew's graduation, I am hoping there will be cake.

I feel like I am shrouded in bad luck, when it comes to my online orders. My mother's shoes are still sitting in California since May 22nd, and then my mask order was supposedly sitting at my local post office (up the street!) since June 8th. I spent three days and over 9 hours on hold, but they are resending my masks, since it looks like they have been lost....at the post office. Fingers crossed these get to me.

This cracked me up

I cannot travel right now, but at least I can enjoy this tour of the Alps.

So much cuteness!

STACKING THE SHELVES

It was a rollercoaster as I stacked my shelves this week. First, I won a book of choice from Nicole & Shannon for the Discussion Challenge, then I was rejected for a four Macmillan books, but then I was approved for one of my most anticipated books, AND I was emailed a widget from a publicist for one of the books I was rejected for. Overall, I was truly blessed by the book gods.

What I Read Last Week

I read some good books this week. My favorite, by far, was You Should See Me in a Crown. This totally lived up to my expectations, and was such a wonderful, feel-good story. I highly recommend, if you like rooting for an underdog and enjoy a sweet romance.

I am sure you are shocked to see a 2-star rating from me, because I always say how I don't finish books I am not enjoying. Well, I really hoped all the reviews for My Summer of Love and Misfortune were wrong, but I was sad to find out, that they were pretty dead on. I know, that if I had been reading this, I would have DNFed, but since I was listening to the audiobook, I just let it play, and it never really got any better. Lesson learned.
