What if damnation is the price of true love?
Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the blight that is destroying the race of warlocks.
Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find in the Courts is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined. Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of Shadowhunters before the deadly power of the parabatai curse destroys them and everyone they love.

Discussion: Do You Look Ahead?
This Week’s Topic: Do You Look Ahead?
I had recently seen a tweet, which made me shudder. I was truly horrified, and I couldn't ever imagine committing the act described in this tweet. It was about reading the last page of book first. 😱

Discussion: Making a Debut
This Week’s Topic: Making a Debut
Every year, we get a fresh, new crop of writers, who have achieved their dream of being published. And, every year, I take a chance on many of these new authors. I read their debuts, and I can say, it it's always a chance worth taking.

Top Ten Tuesday: That Reminds Me
That Reminds Me!
To be perfectly honest, this week was a freebie, and I had recently been singing more and more every time I see certain book titles. In case you are confused, a while back, I did a TTT where I shared book titles that reminded me of songs. It was really fun to do, and I was thinking about it again, because I encountered a reading challenge built around this entire idea (I cannot remember where I saw it, but if you know of it, let me know in the comments). These are culled from this year's read list, but I am already making a new list from my TBR. Enjoy!

Top Ten Tuesday: Let's Throwback
Let's Throwback!
Something I learned this week: I don't read may "cozy" winter books or books set in winter, for that matter. Executive decision - I am doing a totally different topic. I have been making more of an effort to read my shelves and get through my backlist books, and I must say, many of these books have been spectacular reads for me, and I would love to share some of them with you.

Discussion: Pride and Prejudice - What's the Fuss?
Every time I turn around, there is a NEW Pride and Prejudice retelling, spinoff, or sequel hitting the shelves. I have previously confessed, that I have yet to read the book (notice, it's still a possibility), but I can't stop and wonder WHY this story is leveraged over and over again so often. So, I will ask you my lovely readers.

Top Ten Tuesday: Let's Eat!
Let's Eat!
On Thursday, many of us in the US will start the official eating season. Thanksgiving is not my favorite eating holiday, that title belongs to Christmas, but I do appreciate gathering with my family and sharing a well cooked meal. Let's be clear, I am not a fan of cooking, but I am a fan of eating, and these are some foodie books, which left me hungry this year.
