Can't Wait Wednesday!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.

This week I can't wait for:
Now That I've Found You
Kristina Forest
Age/Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Roaring Brook Press
Release Date: August 25, 2020
Goodreads
A YA novel about searching for answers, love, and your eccentric grandma in all the wrong places.

Following in the footsteps of her überfamous grandma, eighteen-year-old Evie Jones is poised to be Hollywood’s next big star. That is until a close friend’s betrayal leads to her being blacklisted . . .

Fortunately, Evie knows just the thing to save her floundering career: a public appearance with America’s most beloved actress—her grandma Gigi, aka the Evelyn Conaway. The only problem? Gigi is a recluse who’s been out of the limelight for almost twenty years. Days before Evie plans to present her grandma with an honorary award in front of Hollywood’s elite, Gigi does the unthinkable: she disappears.

With time running out and her comeback on the line, Evie reluctantly enlists the help of the last person to see Gigi before she vanished: Milo Williams, a cute musician Evie isn’t sure she can trust. As Evie and Milo conduct a wild manhunt across New York City, romance and adventure abound while Evie makes some surprising discoveries about her grandma—and herself.
Why I want to read this book

I absolutely ADORED Forest's debut, I Wanna Be Where You Are, and although I have only read one book from her, I know I will read them all. This book has a missing grandma, a tarnished Hollywood star, and set in NY. I love everything about it.

Why I want to read this book

I know you're thinking, 2018 wasn't that long ago, but I have had a copy of this book since BEA 2017. You have heard it from me, time and time again, that I always "forget" to read my physical books.

Most likely, that is the same excuse I have for not have read this book. Since I got this book, I have read two other books by Colbert, and found them fantastic. I thought this would be a good book for my backlog pick since it is Pride month, and I have heard a lot of wonderful things about it, as well.
What are you waiting on?
Any backlog books you want to read soon?
