Can't-Wait Wednesday!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.

This week I can't wait for:

Top Ten Tuesday: Creepy Covers

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Creepy Covers!

Today is a halloween freebie, and since it is a fairly well-known fact, that I do NOT read scary books, I wanted to keep in the spirit of the "holiday", and share some covers I have seen, which I find quite creepy. Many of these evoke feelings I experienced back in the day, when I used to watch slasher films, and maybe I am reading more into these covers based on that experience, but they creep me out.

Top Ten Tuesday: Thank Goodness for Second Chances

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Thank Goodness for Second Chances!

So, this isn't the official topic, but I have recently read quite a few second chance romances, and just felt the need to share.

I love romances, and my favorite are second chance romances. It can be a husband and wife trying to save their marriage, first loves reunited, or a couple realizing they made a mistake after divorcing. No matter the situation, I just adore the idea that the love between these people never faded, that they carried that spark for each other the whole time. They just needed the right conditions for it to reignite.

Below are some recent second chance romances, which I really enjoyed and left me all sorts of happy and hopeful.

#AmReading: The #ReadForGrace Edition

This past week, I took part in a reading event to celebrate Grace, who we sadly lost this summer. She was a wonderful person, and I think reading some of her favorite books was a beautiful way to honor her. Here are some short-takes on some highly rated books from Grace's read-shelf, which I also, highly rated.

Blog Tour: The Library of Lost Things - Laura Taylor Namey

The Library of Lost Things
Laura Taylor Namey
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Inkyard
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Goodreads
From the moment she first learned to read, literary genius Darcy Wells has spent most of her time living in the worlds of her books. There, she can avoid the crushing reality of her mother’s hoarding and pretend her life is simply ordinary. But when a new property manager becomes more active in the upkeep of their apartment complex, the only home Darcy has ever known outside of her books suddenly hangs in the balance.

While Darcy is struggling to survive beneath the weight of her mother’s compulsive shopping, Asher Fleet, a former teen pilot with an unexpectedly shattered future, walks into the bookstore where she works…and straight into her heart. For the first time in her life, Darcy can’t seem to find the right words. Fairy tales are one thing, but real love makes her want to hide inside her carefully constructed ink-and-paper bomb shelter.

Still, after spending her whole life keeping people out, something about Asher makes Darcy want to open up. But securing her own happily-ever-after will mean she’ll need to stop hiding and start living her own truth—even if it’s messy.

Top Ten Tuesday: What I Like About You

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

What I Like About You!
I read a lot of books, and meet a lot of characters, but there are some that win a foothold in my heart, because there is just something special about them. Thinking back to all these characters I loved, I have identified certain types of characters, which endeared themselves to me. That is what we are talking about this Top Ten Tuesday. As always, I will feature YA books I have read and enjoyed, and will give an example of a character, who fits the description from a recent read.

On the first Friday of each month, I will share my five-star reads from the previous month. Fingers crossed, I have lots of books to tell you about.

In the month of September, I read 36 books, and was lucky enough to have FOUR each the full 5-stars. It was a mix of old and new, and each left me with some fabulous feels.

Top Ten Tuesday: By the Numbers

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

By the Numbers!

I love a good challenge, and I had fun combing my read shelves looking for book titles featuring numbers. You would think there are numbers everywhere, right? Wrong. I guess I don't read a lot of books with numeric titles, but here are some I throughly enjoyed.
