Baseball's Been Very, Very Good to Me!

As much as my very athletic dad would have loved to pass on his love of the game, I was never coordinated enough to sports ball. So, maybe the sport has not be that great to me, but I have read a slew of incredible baseball books. Not only did all these books feature some baseball playing characters, but they left me in such a feel-good mood.

My Favorite Genre - YA Contemporary!

You may have noticed that I read a LOT of contemporary novels. I read middle grades, adult, new adult, and young adult contemporaries. I am not sure whey it is my favorite genre. Maybe it's because of the wide array of topics they cover, or it could be that I am simply more comfortable reading a story that takes place in a time and space somewhat, if not wholly, familiar to me. Whatever the reason, I would love to share some YA contemporaries I enjoyed this year, which I haven't featured recently. Trying to spread the love. This was NO easy task. I shifted through over 100 YA contemporaries I read this year, and leaned towards those I felt were under appreciated. I hope you find a gem in the bunch that sparks your interest.

My Little Known Gems!

This week we are looking at books I LOVED that have less than 2,000 ratings on Goodreads. I apparently read off the beaten path, because many of my favorites fall into this category, however, I will be focusing on those I read in 2018, which I have not previously featured on my hidden gems post. I also noticed that I picked those books that clocked in between 4.5 - 5 stars, AND were written by authors I keep returning to for more.

Last Ten Added!

I must confess. I am CONSTANTLY added books to my TBR. I get a little thrill every time I find a new book, that sounds pleasing to me, and I hope I can get a copy of it one way or another. My TBR is full of wishes, and here are my last ten. Some are being released soon, some are further off and don't even have covers, but all sound great to me.

Let's Throwback!

Something I learned this week: I don't read may "cozy" winter books or books set in winter, for that matter. Executive decision - I am doing a totally different topic. I have been making more of an effort to read my shelves and get through my backlist books, and I must say, many of these books have been spectacular reads for me, and I would love to share some of them with you.

Books Within Books!

I really am not a buyer or a keeper of things, I don't like clutter, but I wanted to try and do something with this week's theme. It made me think about stories, which contain other stories within them. Some were more successful than others for me, but I would say, I always appreciated the effort it must take to sort of write two books at the same time.
