Sundays with Sam - The Sunday Post

Sundays with Sam is a combination of Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

My Week in Review

Happy Sunday! I hope all are doing well. I am enjoying the three day weekend doing NOTHING! Well, as much of nothing that I do every weekend. It's nice to get a break from the grind. Last week was a whole bunch of nothing. It was hot until it was cold, and I am much happier now that it is cool. I know it won't last, but this is my vibe.

Stacking the Shelves

I received quite a few invites. Colt and The Bookshop Woman both appeal to me. Still feeling out the schedule. I was excited to see Swimming For Beginners, a book I had featured on CWW on sale. Had to snap that one up.

Read Last Week

It came of no surprise to me that my favorite book this week was by Carley Fortune. She continues to do what she does best. She writes a beautiful story with duel timelines while showcasing Canada. I think Our Perfect Storm is my new favorite by Fortune. I loved every second of this friends-to-lovers story. Their friendship was epic, their beginning so sweet, and I was cheering for them to take the leap during this friend-trip to Tofino. Perfection!

  1. Oh, cool is my vibe too, as you know...but we're having the first heatwave of the year RIGHT NOW. IN MAY. I am OUTRAGED. I hope your cool climate stays for a while...

Are Christmas books rolling out already?!?

    1. *high five* to another cool weather lover. I don't know why people love the heat and humidity so much. I can related to your heatwave since we almost hit 100 last week. Glad to see that go. El Nino! The holiday books usually get released in September, so ARCs roll out now. Seems early, but I love holiday books any day of the year.

  2. I hope you enjoy your weekend! I tend to be more of a cool weather fan as well. Summer sounds great until its like the 4th 95 degree day in a row and then I'm over it.

  3. I know what you mean about "Nothing, as much of nothing that I do every weekend" because even when you don't plan to do anything there's always chores and such that have to get done! Happy to hear you loved Our Perfect Storm so much as I have the audio. Need to get it listened to! Enjoy the long weekend, Sam!

    1. I guess you can call it "adulting" - there is always a list of things to do, just nothing fun. I never have anything bad to say about a Carley Fortune book. She has a formula that works and sticks with it which I appreciate.

    1. It's the best, but it means I have to do a day in office that I don't normally do (I like Mondays, they are quiet).

  5. Hooray for a quiet weekend! I wish the weather had been a bit better, but I'm glad it wasn't so hot!

    1. I had nowhere to go, so the weather didn't bother me. I liked that it was cool
