Sundays with Sam - The Sunday Post

Sundays with Sam is a combination of Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

My Week in Review

This week, I remembered why I hate summer. We had a mini-heatwave situation. It was close to 100°F with over 90% humidity and our air conditioner broke. I live on the third floor, which just made it that much hotter too. I am glad to report, the new a/c is working well, and just in time, because we are hitting close to 100 again this week.

I don't know how many of you are work from home, but you would think at this point that people could handle a phone meeting better. It's been months, the meeting organizer shouldn't have to remind people to mute their lines. We had a recognition rally on Friday, and the organizer must have mentioned it 6 or 7 times. πŸ™„

I don't know how many of you have read Words on Bathroom Walls, but this trailer had me reliving all those emotions.

In island news, I said goodbye to one of my residents, Olivia. She is off to greener pastures or at least another island. My search for a new resident was exhausting. I had to visit 17 islands before I found a keeper, who I will unveil next week. At first, I was trying to find one of the types I don't have, cranky or jock, but when I bumped into this peppy character, I had to invite her to live on my island.

Below, I share some of the memories I captured of my time with Olivia.

Let's Discuss!
  • Jackie reassures me that it's ok to quite a series
  • Wordy and Whimsical share some very specific tropes they like and dislike
  • Nicole shows us some of the fantastic art she is creating

What I Read Last Week

I really enjoyed most of the books I read and all the audiobooks were entertaining. My favorite book of the week was All Our Worst Ideas. This is my third book by Skinner, and she really wowed me with this one. I am a fan.  I was a bit disappointed by 10 Things I Hate About Pinky. I have adored her contemporaries, most getting between 4.5 - 5 stars, but this one was a struggle for me. So, that made me sad.
