My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! The work week was short because of the holiday, but I had to do three days in a row in office which is always exhausting for me. I have to do it again next week since I am off Monday and Tuesday. Not excited about that.
I am coming to you from Chicago this week. I flew out Friday. My flight was delayed AFTER we boarded. We were stuck waiting for about an hour and half. They pad the time so much, we only ended up 7 minutes late after an hour delay. However, whenever I land at O'Hare, I always wonder if we even land in the state of Illinois. Seriously, it took over a half hour to get to the gate after we landed. It was a long trip, but I made it!
Yesterday, we went to the Hello Kitty Cafe for tea. It was fabulous! Everything was so cute. I had a great time. Then we checked out a few stores since we were on Mag Mile. My daughter is a lot like me and enjoys downtime, so we relaxed the rest of the day. Today, we are heading back downtown to see Dirty Dancing the Musical. I am pretty excited about it.

Not too much this week. I downloaded the Romance Book of the Month because it looked cute. The rest were invites. I am probably going to get Most of them. I don't know much about Deal Breaker, but the other two are on my TBR.

Read Last Week
This was a great week! I had TWO five-star reads. The first was a book I had been hearing so much about, I HAD to read it. This Story Might Save Your Life was excellent. It's a mystery about a podcaster who goes missing. I think it appealed to me because of the friendship between the two main characters. I was very invested in finding the missing person and getting to the bottom of everything.
I also LOVED Thank You for Remembering. This is an amnesia romance. I have had great success with this author in the past, and once again, she delivered a wonderful romance packed with humor, wit, and warmth.

The trip could have been worse...glad they were able to make up for the lost time! But an over-a-half-hour walk to the gate? Seriously???
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your stay, and I hope your trip home goes smoothly!
I feel like they always pad the time for O'Hare because you taxi for so long.
DeleteWell I landed twice at O'Hare and indeed it's a huge airport! Have fun watching Magic Mike!
ReplyDeleteVery big. I was actually NOT all the way at the end for once.
DeleteSorry you have to go into the office 3 straight days-I would hate that if I wasn't used to it. I flew into Midway when I went to Chicago-I can't imagine how overwhelming O'Hare is!!
ReplyDeleteI know there are jobs that have to go in every day, but it's more about my schedule. I hate deviating.
DeleteIt seems like there's always some hassle when flying! No fun being stuck on the plane, but it probably saved you a bit of time rather than having you unload off and then reload all over again. I enjoyed This Story Might Save Your Life and I'm looking forward to reading The You I Used to Be! Have fun in Chicago!
ReplyDeleteThis Story Might Save Your Life was a great surprise. I don't like stories that are too dark which is why I don't tend to read mystery/thrillers, but this one worked.
DeleteSo glad you're having/had a great trip!
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun. Now I have to go home *sad face*
DeleteYour trip to Chicago sounds like fun. I hope to go see Obama's center next summer.
ReplyDeleteI was near there when I went to the the science museum. It's one of the ugliest buildings I have ever seen.
