Texas is a state I would love to visit. I have hardly been to any western states, and heck, I love barbecue. As for reading, this is not a super hard setting to stumble upon. Katherine Center has set quite a few books there, and I have checked this one off my challenge with her books for many years.

Same thing here. The story begins (and maybe ends? Why can't I remember this!) in Texas where the team is based. The bulk of the story takes place during a holiday visit to Mitchell's family in Minnesota.

SURPRISE! This whole book takes place in Texas, and what is more Texas than rodeos and ranching. Much of this story focusing on Ray's recovery, but there is plenty of time out on the ranch with horses and whatnot.
