Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.
This week I can't wait for
When We Had Forever by Shaylin Gandhi

An emotionally powerful roller coaster of a novel about losing and finding love, perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover and Lucy Score.
Six months after her husband died in a car crash, Mina Drake is still mired in a haze of grief. Reminders of her years with Michael are everywhere, but beneath her heartache lies an even more painful emotion. It’s a guilty suspicion she can hardly admit to anyone, even herself—that her marriage was over long before Michael’s accident.
They were good together once, she’s sure of it, sharing a connection so deep that Mina can’t understand how it unraveled. That is, until a chance discovery in her husband’s office—and the reappearance of Michael’s estranged brother, Grayson, a notorious bad-boy photographer—awakens her to possible answers.
More shocking still is the pull Mina feels to tattooed, scarred Grayson, who’s nothing at all like the man she married. But as feelings stir to life again, so do secrets, changing everything she thought she knew about her marriage, and about the risks and rewards of loving with no limits…
They sort of had me at emotional roller coaster. You all know I love to bathe in my tears, and sometimes, I am really in the mood for a book that annihilates my feels. These books where the marriage was secretly in trouble and then a spouse dies are normally really emotional. That surviving spouse tends to be left with grief and guilt. I am curious if that will be the case here. It does seem like there will be a touch of mystery with Mina uncovering secrets about her husband and marriage after his death. Already feeling the feels.
That Secret Crush by Meghan Quinn

Age/Genres: GENRE

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn brings more humor and heart with the third novel of her Getting Lucky series: a story about breaking curses and laying your heart on the line.
What happens when your secret crush isn’t so secret anymore?
I’ve had feelings for Eve Roberts for as long as I can remember, but because she also happens to be the twin sister of my best friend, Eric, I’ve never acted on my feelings and long ago resigned myself to keeping my crush under wraps.
But after a terrible falling-out with Eric involving a failed restaurant venture and plenty of blame on both sides, I’m back in Port Snow without my best friend and without any direction. But can you guess who’s here? Eve. And my attraction to her is as strong as ever.
As old feelings rush back, Eve and I find ourselves pulled together, whether we like it or not. Lines are crossed, secrets are kept, and we soon discover that the difference between love and friendship may not be so black and white, after all.
Everyone wants that secret crush to love them back…but will I be ready when she does?
I bought this book back in 2021 after reading the final book in the series. Yes, I read the serious out of order. After LOVING book 4, I went on to read books 1 and 2 which were also huge hits, but it seems this one slipped through the cracks. At this point, I have a feel for all the brothers, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will love Eric's story. This will be bittersweet, as it will be my last trip to Port Snow, but I am also excited to be reunited with this zany bunch.

I think I read the first book in the Meghan Quinn series - she's always good for a light, fun romance!
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite series by her.
DeleteI like the sound of When We Had Forever, Sam. I also enjoy a book where I can have a good cry, so cathartic. I hope you enjoy both of these.
