Top Ten Tuesday - A Paranormal Presence

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

A Paranormal Presence!

Happy Tuesday and Happy Halloween! I hope anyone partaking is enjoying the day. Today, we were given a Halloween freebie. On Saturday, I had shared five witchy books from my TBR, but today, I thought I would go with general paranormal books. I used to read a LOT of PNR, and though I read less these days, I have read a few great ones this year (and in previous years).

  1. The House on Prytania by Karen White
  2. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
  3. The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston
  4. The Shop on Royal Street by Karen White
  5. Not the Witch You Wed by April Asher

  1. Men are Frogs by Saranna DeWylde
  2. The Kindred Spirits Supper Club by Amy E. Reichert
  3. In the Shadow Garden by Liz Parker
  4. The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman
  5. Grim Shadows by Jenn Bennett

  1. I just want to give your whole post a hug because you've got so many of my favorite paranormal books on this list. I've really been into what I think of as cozy paranormal books (Kindred Spirits Supper Club, A Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, Legends and Lattes, The Dead Romantics, etc.) and that Alice Hoffman series is one of my all time favorites, especially the book you chose.

    1. I like that, cozy paranormals. That's the stuff that makes me happy. I have only read the one book and the short story by Hoffman, but I like her writing a lot

  2. I wanted to love The Dead Romantics more than I did, but I'm still going to try Poston again because her books have such appealing premises.

    1. I personally felt Dead Romantics was light on the romance, but the other parts of the story really captured my heart. I can understand readers feeling misled, maybe. Sorry you didn't enjoy it

  3. Happy Halloween! I love anything PNR. I did really enjoy those Jenn Bennetts! Those were so fun to read. I think you would enjoy Kerrelyn Sparks and Lynsay Sands, they both have really good humor in them.

    1. The Bennett books were such an interesting combination of paranormal and history. I am not familiar with Sparks or Sands. I will have to check them out

  4. Those first 4 are favorites of mine! Especially White's. I'm so happy you are loving them. I don't normally read paranormal, but those are musts for me. I also read ARCs for two (Ferguson & Hazelwood) this fall that I LOVED. Happy Halloween!

    1. Hazelwood has a paranormal? Oh, Bride. That one didn't really catch my eye, but I am glad you enjoyed it. I have the Fakemate coming up soon.

  5. One of these days I'll get to Not the Witch You Wed. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches and The Dead Romantics are definitely winners. Favorite paranormal creature? I think I'll have to go with wyverns.

    1. Nice. Dragonish, but not a dragon. Witch was cute. I want to read more of the series.

  6. I enjoy Karen White's books, but I haven't read her Tradd Street or Royal Street series. I need to give them a go. They sound fun!

    Happy TTT!

    1. I would have never given this series a try had I not read some great reviews from bloggers I trust, and they were right.
