Can't Wait Wednesday!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.

This week I can't wait for:
Radha & Jai's Recipe for Romance

Nisha Sharma
Age/Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Crown Books FYR
Release Date: July 13, 2021
Goodreads
To All the Boys I Loved Before meets World of Dance in this delectable love story that combines food, dance, and a hint of drama to cook up the perfect romance.

Radha is on the verge of becoming one of the greatest Kathak dancers in the world . . . until a family betrayal costs her the biggest competition of her life. Now, she has left her Chicago home behind to follow her stage mom to New Jersey. At the Princeton Academy of the Arts, Radha is determined to leave performing in her past, and reinvent herself from scratch.

Jai is captain of the Bollywood Beats dance team, ranked first in his class, and an overachiever with no college plans. Tight family funds means medical school is a pipe dream, which is why he wants to make the most out of high school. When Radha enters his life, he realizes she's the exact ingredient he needs for a show-stopping senior year.

With careful choreography, both Radha and Jai will need to face their fears (and their families) if they want a taste of a happily ever after.
Why I want to read this book

Sharma's My So-Called Bollywood life is a favorite of mine. I gladly enjoyed Sharma's adult romances, as I eagerly awaited her new YA releases. It's been a while, and I am excited!!! Seeing the word "romance" in the title will always draw my attention, but there's dancing too. I think this one will leave me smiling and in a feel-good mood.

Downed

Jen Fredrick
Series: Gridiron, #3
Age/Genre: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Pear Tree LLC
Release Date: December 1, 2016

He’s the guy no one likes…

Despite winning two national championships, JR “Ace” Anderson was sent packing from his old school after losing the trust of his coach. At Southern U, he has a second chance to prove that his college legacy isn’t endless debauchery and selfishness. But his reputation precedes him, and his teammates offer a chilly welcome in the locker room. The one person who is willing to accept him is the very woman he should stay away from—his new coach’s daughter.

She’s the girl everyone loves…

Bryant Johnson’s only goal in life is to make others happy, even at her own expense. One look at her father’s new star quarterback, and she knows that Ace is her next project. With a reputation for being a “jerk whisperer”, Bryant has spent her last three years at college reforming sorry behavior and turning bad boys into the best boyfriends ever. In Ace, though, she’s met with surly resistance and a sizzling attraction she doesn’t expect. Fixing this wounded warrior will be her biggest challenge yet. Not falling for him will be even harder.

Between her big heart and his damaged one, a battle is ensuing. In this game of love, every defense will crumble.
Why I want to read this book

I started this series back in 2015, bought the other books, and then didn't read them. 🤷 I think it's because I wasn't really reading much new adult romance, but I have slowly been reading some again. Seems like a good time to return to this series. I remember Ace, and I am interested in following up with him. It's his chance to redeem himself with me, you know? I have no doubts that this book will hit the spot, since my love for sports romances runs deep. I have also enjoyed the other books in the series and am eager to finish it up.

What are you waiting on?

  1. Once again, you picked two books that I think I would really enjoy. I haven't read either of these authors but dancing and romance sounds like fun and I love a good sports romance.

    1. Whoo hoo! I have Downed and the last book still to read. I mean, you never know if she'll go back. We are getting a new Off-Campus book in the fall (which I am pretty excited about). I love when authors revisit great series.
