Can't Wait Wednesday!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.

This week I can't wait for:
Misfit in Love

S.K. Ali
Series: Saints and Misfits, #2
Age/Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Salaam Reads
Release Date: May 25, 2021
Goodreads
In this fun and fresh sequel to Saints and Misfits, Janna hopes her brother’s wedding will be the perfect start to her own summer of love, but attractive new arrivals have her more confused than ever.

Janna Yusuf is so excited for the weekend: her brother Muhammad’s getting married, and she’s reuniting with her mom, whom she’s missed the whole summer.

And Nuah’s arriving for the weekend too.

Sweet, constant Nuah.

The last time she saw him, Janna wasn’t ready to reciprocate his feelings for her. But things are different now. She’s finished high school, ready for college…and ready for Nuah.

It’s time for Janna’s (carefully planned) summer of love to begin—starting right at the wedding.

But it wouldn’t be a wedding if everything went according to plan. Muhammad’s party choices aren’t in line with his fiancée’s taste at all, Janna’s dad is acting strange, and her mom is spending more time with an old friend (and maybe love interest?) than Janna.

And Nuah’s treating her differently.

Just when things couldn’t get more complicated, two newcomers—the dreamy Haytham and brooding Layth—have Janna more confused than ever about what her misfit heart really wants.

Janna’s summer of love is turning out to be super crowded and painfully unpredictable.
Why I want to read this book

I was a big fan of Saints and Misfits (and an even bigger fan of Love from A to Z), that I was jumping up and down when I heard we were getting a sequel. I am so excited to catch up with Janna, her friends, and family, and knowing that I will be attending her brother's wedding makes it even more special. I confess, Janna declaring this her "summer of love" and hearing the Nuah has me downright giddy. Yes, I am absolutely ready to return to this world.

I Dare You

Ilsa Madden-Mills
Series: Waylon University, #1
Age/Genre: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: CreateSpace
Release Date: April 28, 2018
Goodreads
Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills kicks off a brand-new, sexy, heartfelt contemporary romance series with I DARE YOU!

Badass Athlete: I dare you to…
Delaney Shaw: Who is this?

The late night text is random, but "Badass Athlete" sure seems to know who she is…

Delaney Shaw.
Good girl.
Lover of fluffy kitties and Star Wars.
Curious.

His dare? Spend one night in his bed—a night he promises will be unforgettable—and she can solve the mystery of who he is.

She knows she shouldn't, but what else is she going to do with her boring Valentine's Day?

One sexy hook-up later, her mind is blown and the secret's out.

Maverick Monroe.
Bad boy.
The most talented football player in the country.
Just ask him.

Too bad for him Delaney's sworn off dating athletes forever after her last heartbreak.

But Maverick wants more than one night and refuses to give up on winning Delaney’s heart. She isn’t one to be fazed by a set of broad shoulders.

Will the bad boy land the nerd girl or will the secrets they keep from each other separate them forever?
Why I want to read this book

I have been returning to some of my old favorite romance authors as of late, and the return has been a welcome one. This book has been festering on my Kindle for years, and Madden-Mills is an author who I always enjoy. I can sometimes be a bit leery of NA romance, but this is a sports romance written by Madden-Mills, and I trust it will be another hit for me.

What are you waiting on?

  3. My daughter went through a Madden-Mills reading binge, but I still haven't tried her out. I should. A lot of her books are on Kindle Unlimited. Hope you love both picks, Sam!

    1. I think I had read a ton of her books back when I had a KU subscription. Sometimes you just want a good HEA romance with a touch of drama. I did like I Dare You. I was especially taken by the hero and the difficulties he had to tackle in his life.

    1. If you need some easy entertainment, I Dare You will do the job. I was fully into the story, even the bit of girl drama that was in there. Mav and Delaney were a great pair.

  10. Madden-Mills is one of those authors that has been on my radar for years but I just haven't got around to yet. I probably even have one or two by her on my Kindle. One of these I will give her a try.

  11. I still need to read Saints and Misfits. And I loved I Dare You! Hopefully you find time to fit it in soon. Ilsa Madden-Mills was an author I had to meet at Book Bonanza in 2019, and I barely got in line in time to meet her, but I was so happy when I did! Thanks for visiting my Wednesday post on Lisa Loves Literature yesterday!
