It's Monday! What are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. This post is for sharing what I read last week, what I am currently reading, and what I plan to read.

What I Read Last Week

I did very well with my book reading this week. I read ALL the books I planned to read. However, I abandoned two audiobooks. I just could not get into them. They had good reviews, but maybe they just didn't work on audio.

My favorite read this week, was When Dimple Met Rishi. My heart was exploding during this one. If you like fun and adorable contemporary romances with some cultural diversity, you will love this one.

What I Am Currently Reading

Other Breakable Things was sort of a teen version of Me Before You. It was a tragic love story, that left me a snotty mess. Therefore, I needed a fun read to follow it up, and I can count on R.S. Grey to bring the funny.

I am hoping for more success with my audiobook selection this week. Then and Always sounds promising as I am a fan of the books that are name dropped in the synopsis. Fingers crossed!

What I Plan to Read

I have been wanting to read both #scandal and Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies. Rocks was available on Overdrive and #scandal is a Riveted free read. Yeah! All of the books I selected, with the exception of Rocks, is by an author I have read before, thus, I think this will be a great week.

  3. These all sound good. I find myself too easily distracted to really enjoy audiobooks. I have to have a book in my hands to keep my concentration. Come see my reading week here. Happy reading!

    1. I am a visual learner, so I have to listen to the right kind of audiobook. I found contemporary romances work well for me, as they do not have the added complication of world building or lore that SFF books have.

  6. It's a shame when audiobooks don't work out, but good on you for abandoning when not enjoying. Will be really interested to see what you think of Then and Always. I see someone on Goodreads I follow liked the narrator. Myself I just read it around publishing time.

    1. I am a firm believer of DNFing if I am not enjoying a book. I read for entertainment, and I have a TBR that goes on forever. I, however, do not rate books I DNF. It just doesn't sit well with me to assign a rating when I only read part of a book. I am about 62% through Then and Always, and I am really enjoying it. The narrator is excellent, and I really like where the story is going.

And I need to read Coming Up For Air too! And Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies! Right now I am reading Dream Thieves, but I am almost done and then... who knows hahaha.

    1. I want EVERYONE to read Dimple and Rishi. I am getting all heart-eyes just thinking about it. I am all about the Raven Cycle. I adored that series, and am pretty excited that Ronan may be getting a spin off, and that the series was optioned.
