My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! The big event today is the ending of Daylight Savings Time. I gained an hour, thank goodness, because I have been treading water all week. It was all work and hospital visits, but I am happy that dad is finally home and doing better. I was hoping to get back on track this weekend, but something was amiss yesterday when I tried to write this post. I don't think it was my internet, since I could access it from my phone, but my post would not save. I lost it all and got frustrated and gave up.

Stacking the Shelves
End of the year, slow week, but I did decide to download a Lucy Score book. I adored Maggie Moves On but have yet to hit up her backlist. It was mostly because all her books seem to be over 500 pages (you know me), but this one is a reasonable length. Maybe I will love it so much that I will toss my contemporaries-should-not-be-that-long rule out the window.

- My Fair Senor by Alana Quintana Albertson
- Snow Place to Go by Samantha Baca
Read Last Week
It seems my most successful reads this week were sequels which is always a good thing. I found Soul Searching to be a promising start to a new series from Sage, and The Kamogawa Food Detectives did not disappoint either. Gave me lots of warm-fuzzies. Speaking of warm-fuzzies, Uncharmed took the prize for that. This follow up to Rewitched was even cozier than its predecessor.

Always a Bridesmaid has been a lot of fun. These race car romances seem to be everywhere lately. I am absolutely in love with Holiday Ever After. It has this great Hallmark vibe, but the heroine isn't evil. In fact, she is trying to right a wrong. The small town is wonderful too. I am actually hoping Grace makes this a series. I would return to Fraser Falls in a heartbeat.

Glad to hear your dad's ordeal (and yours) is over! Ha - 500 pages for a contemporary novel does seem like a stretch (you don't need worldbuilding for such a thing), but I hope it will be worth it...
ReplyDeleteNot over, but he's home and stable. We are happy. EXACTLY! Why is a contemporary that long? When I have read them, I felt they needed editing. This one is in the right range (under 400).
DeleteI am glad that your dad is doing better and is home now! Also I thought I had missed something when I saw for the first time only three posts on your week sam! LOL
ReplyDeleteI was so overwhelmed with work and going to the hospital. Something had to give.
