Sloth's Choice Awards - Favorite Romances of 2023

It's time to celebrate my year in books. I will be spreading my favorites throughout a bunch of categories, but these are all favorites. For more of my favorites, check out my Five Star Friday posts. Today I will be sharing.....

Favorite Romances!

I have long been a romance reader and continue to read a LOT of romances. I subscribe to genre romance which means each books has an HEA and the romance is front-and-center in the story. At this moment, I have read 326 books and more than 180 of those books were shelved as romance. There are some of my favorites romances that were released this year.

  1. Just My Type by Falon Ballard
  2. Off the Map by Trish Doller
  3. Change of Plans by Dylan Newton
  4. Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune
  5. The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

  1. The Roommate Pact by Allison Ashley
  2. Faking Christmas by Kerry Winfrey
  3. Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez
  4. Emergency Contact by Lauren Layne and Anthony LeDonne
  5. The Takedown by Carlie Walker

  1. I am not surprised by your choices as I read your previous reviews! I just wonder how you managed to stop at ten books as you read so many books a year!

    1. It's hard to pick just ten, but some will fit other categories. HA!

  2. If I read romance I need an HEA too. I know I'm not a big romance reader but still...

    Merry christmas!

    1. The HEA is what I am reading it for. If there's no HEA, I call it a love story. Merry Christmas to you too, Greg!

  5. I love that you read so much romance even if we read different types of romance...its such a wonderful expansive genre that has something for everyone to enjoy. I have read some of Lauren Layne's older works.

  7. I saw so many great reviews for The Seven Year Slip during the year. At some point, I'd like to try Abby Jimenez. I have her 2024 release on my list for next year so maybe! *off to check out Faking Christmas* :)

    1. Slip was such an interesting story. The idea of going back to a specific time and gaining so much clarity. THEN meeting that person in the present. Loved it. Jimenez's books always make me laugh and cry. I am big fan of Winfrey's too. She does rom-coms really well. Light and fun.

    1. So hard. Though, I have a lot less 5-star books than last year. I started with those and filled in with my 4.5 star books.
