Top Ten Tuesday: Buy! Buy! Buy!

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Buy! Buy! Buy!

Today we are talking about those auto-buy authors. These are authors, who have never let me down. I know, that if I sit down with one of their books, I am guaranteed, at minimum, a solid 4-star read. I never feel like I am taking a chance or wasting time on their books, because when I get to that last page, I am satisfied and happy. Everyone already knows that Katie McGarry, Jennifer E. Smith, Sarah Dessen, and Kasie West are my YA queens, but I wanted to share some of my newer favorites. Therefore, I am including some authors with smaller catalogs, but small or not, all their books were fantastic. (My list would also include these authors, but I am trying to spread the love.)

Who are your auto-buy authors?

    1. Because Jenn Bennett's books are amazing. I even enjoyed her adult historical PNR books. There's something about the characters she writes and her dialog is always really smart too

  7. Yass, Jenn Bennett is also an autobuy author for me! I also really love Elizabeth Acevedo's first book and definitely need to check out her newest!

    1. I have definitely screamed about all of these authors at one point. Maybe someday I will convert you to contemporaries. (HA!)

  11. Pretty much all of these books are on my TBR pile somewhere, but I haven't read any of them yet. Good to know they're all worth the read. It's hard to know with newer authors sometimes.

    1. It is, but I feel I am more daring, because I have a great library system and I read a lot. Taking a risk is easier, when you're not paying and you are able to spend time on a book that you might not finish.

  12. YESSS to Jenn Bennett and Katie Cotugno! Absolutely agree! I need to read more books by the other authors too- especially Sara Barnard, I think I own every one of her books, and STILL haven't read any! Great list!

    1. Barnard was a wonderful find, and I was lucky enough to win her Twitter giveaway for the book not available in the US. I am always dumbfounded by bad reviews for Cotugno's books, because her books are fantastic and honest and messy and so is life.

  13. Jenn Bennett might just be getting there for me too. :)

    1. It is another example of YA perfection. Dimple and Rishi are two of my fave YA characters, but honestly, all of Menon's books are excellent

  15. Sandhya Menon is such a sweetheart! And her books are great too. Well, I've only read Dimple so far, but I'm on the waiting list at the library for Sweetie on audiobook!

  17. I love Kasie West and Katie McGarry! I need to add the less known authors that you have on your auto-buy list to my try out list! Thanks for sharing!

    1. We could only pick 10. That's why I focused on some newer-to-me authors, and many of them only have 2 or so books too, but I loved them, and I want to read all their books

  24. Glad you're featuring some newer auto buy authors on your shelf. I'm the same, Jenn Bennett and Emma Mills just have to mention a new book and I'm there buying myself a copy. I'm a little behind on Sandhya Menon releases but I am definitely checking out her newest book soon(ish).

    1. Menon came out the gate so strong for me, and her books have been consistently delightful. Definitely earned her way onto my list. I could have reiterated my love and adoration for all the YA names that are super established, but I have a thing for spreading the love, and I like to see some newer or newer to me authors get some attention.
