My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. The weather was all over the place this week. We had some above freezing mornings which I love since that's when I have to stay outside the most. Thursday started out 44°F, but a front came in during the day, and it was really cold on my way home. Then, they said we would get some flurries, but it turned out to be more snow than that. There is supposed to be more today, but I am happy to report that there is no snow on the roads.
I think the winter is getting to me. I feel so tired, and it's really wrecking my reading. I am trying to come to terms that I can only read four books a week now, but it pains me. There are just too many books I want to read.
It's been a quiet week. I have an appointment today to roll my CD over since it matured. It's 2026, I really should be able to review the rates available online and do that way. It takes me longer to drive over to the bank than to complete the rollover.

Stacking the Shelves
Approvals are still slow right now, but in all honesty, I only have two outstanding requests. I am trying my hardest not to request too many books. It's been hard. That's probably why I keep downloading free books. Actually, Dust Devil was on my TBR, and I saw the 100% price drop. It's set in New Mexico. It's really hard for me to find books I want to read set in New Mexico, so I was excited. The other was a newsletter freebie that I could not resist with a title like that.
Purchased/Free
- My Life as a Dust Devil by Carly Berg
- Hockey Boys Don't Read by Sara Ney
Read Last Week
I felt like I was reading slow this week, but it was a good reading week. My shelf book, The Friendship Fling, did not disappoint, and The Chibineko Kitchen sequel was my favorite book of the week. I am trash for these cozy, emotional stories of loss and healing which always make me cry. Loved it!

Well winter is also getting to me and I can only read two books a week now. I fall asleep as soon as I am laying down on the couch!
ReplyDeleteI am constantly waking up in the evening to my kindle in sleep mode on my lap, and I stay sitting up. LOL. We need more sleep, Sophie
DeleteThe cold can get depressing. Hope you get some warmer weather! I loved A Merry Little Lie, too, but Sarah Morgan rarely disappoints. Stay warm and have a great week, Sam!
ReplyDeleteWe got a cold front coming in with temps in the teens. BOO and it's snowing again. I always enjoy Morgan's books as well.
DeleteWinter affects me, too. :( I just want to blanket up and watch TV.
ReplyDeleteIt kept snowing yesterday too! Hate the white stuff. I had to clear three cars again.
DeleteMeanwhile, I’m having trouble reading because of the heat (and our temporary lack of AC)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a warmer week and good books.
The last time I was without a/c during the summer was last year when the power went out. It was rough. I hope you get your repair done quickly.
DeleteThis time of year is my favorite. I love reading in the cold. It's the summertime heat that gets to me.
ReplyDeleteI also hate the heat. I am a moderate person who likes moderate temperatures and no snow.
DeleteI feel ya on this weather. I have been so tired and unmotivated lately. I blame the weather and the darkness.
ReplyDeleteThis snow every weekend is tiring too.
DeleteWe're bracing for an icy storm here in South Texas that is sure to close everything down for a few days. We just don't do winter here haha
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well by you. I know the storm is already there. We are waiting to see how it treats us
