Can't Wait Wednesday!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.

This week I can't wait for

Serving in the Snow

She’s stuck in a snowed-in cottage without heat.
He’s the neighbour offering to keep her warm

Sparks fly in this emotional small town holiday romance set in the Scottish Highlands.

Supermodel KIT SINCLAIR knows that at twenty-nine, her days of reigning the runway are numbered. After a particularly disastrous photoshoot, she escapes to the Scottish Highlands for the holidays, searching for the last place that felt like home.

But after a blizzard cuts her off from the nearest village, the peace and quiet she’s found turns into full blown isolation… with the exception of her exceedingly handsome next door neighbour.

Writer's block has JONAH ANDERS in its clutches. But it’s not until Kit Sinclair struts into town, carrying more than just designer luggage, that he wonders if what he needed wasn't a muse, but a distraction

She’s fleeing a life that no longer fits. He’s lost his spark. But in this corner of the Cairngorms, neither expect to find something worth holding onto... just in time to let it go.

A cozy, emotional holiday romance about starting over, letting go, and finding love where you least expect it. Perfect for readers of snowed-in holiday romances and spicy readers.

I had recently read two books from Jones, and I enjoyed her tennis romances. This time around, she has written a holiday romance set in Scotland. Forced proximity is a trope that never fails for me, and I love the idea of these two being trapped together for the holidays.

All He Wants for Christmas
 by Jill Shalvis

Heat up your holidays with this reader-favorite novella by New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis!

EMT Dustin Mauer has made it clear that his Christmas mission is to convince tough firefighter Cristina Lewis that she’s in love with him. But Cristina lives and breathes her job, and there’s no place in her life for a relationship—though she has to admit that Dustin’s lean, chiseled body and low, whiskey-thick voice still tempt her. But even Dustin can only take so much rejection. Can she admit that all she wants this Christmas—and every Christmas—is him, before it’s too late?

I read my first Jill Shalvis book back in 2016, and it was love at first read. I have done a good job keeping up with her new releases and have read 46 of her books, but she has a vast catalog of books I need to read. I have seen the publisher re-packing and re-releasing many of Shalvis' older books, and as luck would have me, my library just got a whole bunch of them. I love holiday romances, so I checked this one out of the library. The combination of Shalvis and Christmas should be a winning combination for me.
