Top Ten Tuesday: Standout Singles
Standout Singles!
This is one of those topics, which I thought would be simple, but it wasn't. Apparently, I do not read many books with single word titles. I have to say, I do admire authors, who are able to boil their book down to one word, and really have it fit. Maybe that's why I don't have too many single word titles on my read shelf. Because of that, I had to go back further than I normally do, but I was able to find some great books with succinct titles to share with you this week.

Top Ten Tuesday: I'm Seeing Stars
I'm Seeing Stars!
This week, I was challenged to take a look at my TBR, and predict which books would earn 5-stars from me. My goal, when picking books, is for each to potentially be a 5-star read, but I took a critical look, and went for sure things, when I assembled this list.

#AmReading YA
I am thinking of calling this the "difficult to properly express my thoughts" edition. Everyone knows sequels are tricky to review, but the standalone was no walk in the park either. I have to be a little vague, because I cannot bring myself to spoil it! So, this is me, apologizing in advance, if I seem a little evasive in the reviews below.

Top Ten Tuesday: My Favorite Tropes
My Favorite Tropes!
I remember seeing Gayle Forman on a panel, a few years ago, at BookCon, and she was talking about tropes and her love for them. I know I was nodding along with her, because I really don't think there are any bad tropes, and the success of the trope relies on how well the author executes it. Today, I am sharing books, which I loved, that featured some of my favorite tropes:
- Fauxmance romance
- Friends-to-More romance

Top Ten Tuesday: Welcome, Spring!
It's been one crazy winter, and I know that I am looking forward to most of the things that arrive with spring. I look forward to the longer and warmer days, and all the green popping up around us. I could do without the allergies, but sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. I am also looking forward to many, many spring 2019 book releases. I have a gazillion books I want to read this spring, so narrowing it down was tough, but I think I selected books, that will be 5-star reads for me.

Goodreads
Pretty Little Liars meets Ocean's 11 in this intrigue-filled contemporary drama from acclaimed author Kristen Simmons.
Welcome to Vale Hall, the school for aspiring con artists.
When Brynn Hilder is recruited to Vale, it seems like the elite academy is her chance to start over, away from her mom's loser boyfriend and her rundown neighborhood. But she soon learns that Vale chooses students not so much for their scholastic talent as for their extracurricular activities, such as her time spent conning rich North Shore kids out of their extravagant allowances.
At first, Brynn jumps at the chance to help the school in its mission to rid the city of corrupt officials--because what could be better than giving entitled jerks what they deserve? But that's before she meets her mark--a senator's son--and before she discovers the school's headmaster has secrets he'll stop at nothing to protect. As the lines between right and wrong blur, Brynn begins to realize she's in way over head.

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Tor Teen
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Goodreads
Bestselling author Katie McGarry’s trademark wrong-side-of-the-tracks romance is given a new twist in the gritty YA contemporary novel, Only a Breath Apart.
Jesse Lachlin is cursed.
So the town folklore says, but while Jesse’s had his fair share of tragedy, the only curse he believes is in his grandmother’s will: in order to inherit his family farm he must win the approval of his childhood best friend, the girl he froze out his freshman year, Scarlett Copeland.
Scarlett Copeland is psychic.
Glory Gardner tells Scarlett she has hidden psychic abilities, but Scarlett thinks Glory is delusional. What is real is Scarlett’s father’s irrational fears, controlling attitude, and the dark secrets at home. Scarlett may have a way to escape, but there’s a hitch: she’ll have to rely on the one person she used to trust, the same boy who broke her heart, Jesse Lachlin.
Each midnight meeting pushes Jesse and Scarlett to confront their secrets and their feelings for each other. But as love blooms, the curse rears its ugly head…
