This week I can't wait for Pretend She's Here!

Emily Lonergan's best friend died last year.

And Emily hasn't stopped grieving. Lizzie Porter was lively, loud, and fun -- Emily's better half. Emily can't accept that she's gone.

When Lizzie's parents and her sister come back to town to visit, Emily's heartened to see them. The Porters understand her pain. They miss Lizzie desperately, too.

Desperately enough to do something crazy.

Something unthinkable.

Suddenly, Emily's life is hurtling toward a very dark place -- and she's not sure she'll ever be able to return to what she once knew was real.

From New York Times bestselling author Luanne Rice comes a breathless, unputdownable story of suspense, secrets -- and the strength that love gives us to survive even the most shocking of circumstances.
Luanne Rice has been on my radar for a while. I mean, she has written over 30 books, and I feel like this book would be a great place for me to start.

You know I have a penchant for grief books, but the synopsis hints that there is a bit more to this story. I sense I will cry and maybe even be shocked, and I am onboard for that.

  2. We have a book in common! We have a book in common! 😂

I put this one in my list because it sounds like there's a great mystery at its center...plus it's not often that we get to read a book about friendship without mean girls and love triangles.

    1. I went to the eLibrary and they had a bunch. So, if I can't read this one, I will try one of the others. If someone can publish that many books, there must be something to their storytelling.
