Top Ten Tuesday: I Would Follow You

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

I Would Follow You!

Today's topic was actually pretty interesting. What characters would I follow on social media? That's a tough question. I would want to see posts from someone with a great sense of humor, because let's face, real life can be tough, and laughter really is the best medicine for that. I also like to see posts about things such as books, science, cute animals, and food.

Here are ten characters, who I think would create posts, which would entertain and interest me. As always, I tried to cull these characters from recent favorites.
  • Marin from Rules for Being a Girl by Candace Bushnell & Katie Cotugno - I would love to hear about what books they discussed in feminist book club
  • Maisie from What I Like About Me by Jenna Guillaume - Maisie is hilarious, and she's about body positivity. I think her posts would be amazing!
  • Pip from A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson - Nothing like some true crime talk from someone with Pip's wit.
  • Stevie from the Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson - Another crime aficionado, who I adored.
  • #PepperJack from Tweet Cute by Emma Lord - You know they have a strong Twitter game filled with snark, but Pepper's dessert creations would be another reason to follow.
  • Jolene from Every Other Weekend by Abigail Johnson - Her film knowledge is vast, and I bet should would have lots of insight into what to see next.
  • Nina, Joydeep, Sasha, and Jamie from Lucky Caller by Emma Mills - 90s music talk. Yes, please.
  • Sophie from 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston - I hope her feed is filled with pictures and stories of all her family's shenanigans.
  • Isabel from Sick Kids in Love by Hannah Moskowitz - I loved her Sick Girl column, and would definitely read more of that.
  • Clara from Suggested Reading by David Connis - Clara is a bookworm, who I hope would talk about books...a lot.

Who would you follow?

  1. I'd follow Maisie, definitely. I think she would have so much to say, esp when she's doing the contest AND in a small holiday town to boot. Also #pepperJack -- you won me over at dessert creations lol

    1. Yes! You need to meet #PepperJack. They were fantastic! I loved reading about Maisie's days at the beach, and watching her branch out. Her color commentary were some of the best parts for me

  2. Um, this may be one of your first posts where I haven't read a single book. *sad face* But I like the sound of Maisie's body positivity and Clara's book talk. :)

  3. Okay, you just moved LUCKY CALLER up to the top of my list with "90's music talk".... because YES PLEASE for me too!! I love all your picks!! I almost put Stevie on my list too-- I think she would be good on some sort of true crime podcast or twitter-- but then I remembered that I don't really like her or that series (even though I'm currently reading it 🙈). LOL.

    1. Mills only name drops a few 90s bands. She actually created her own 90s fandom (I love that she does this in her books), and I loved them too. I did love Stevie. She was complicated, but she had a lot of great qualities. I give you a lot of credit for finishing a series you didn't like

  4. I haven't read Tweet Cute yet, but even just from the title it seems like the characters would be a perfect fit for this week's topic! I didn't know about the dessert creations, either, but I would love to look at pics of those, too!

    1. I couldn't get enough of #PepperJack. I almost wanted Lord to do like they did with the YA Romance Hero, and create a twitter for them

  11. #PepperJack would be fun to follow with the way the are always trying to one up eachother, and I agree with Sophia and getting to see and read all about her family's shenanigans! I liked Isabel's sick girl column and can see why you included her as well :)

    1. I think if Sophia's family had a group Twitter, it would be hilarious. OR, an Instagram capturing all the family get togethers with stories attached.

  13. The only book on this list I've read is Truly Devious. I think Stevie's posts would always be very cryptic... She wouldn't want the killer to know she's on their tail!

    1. Nothing like a cryptic post to leave you wondering what it all means.

  14. Stevie from Maureen Johnson's series would be a good choice with her true crime focus. I've seen her on a few lists now.

Oh, and your post title totally made me think of this. Haha
