My Week in Review
Happy last Sunday of 2025! I hope everyone is doing well. I was off this past week which was really nice. We didn't really do much, but it was relaxing. Christmas was low-key with just the four of us. It's a holiday meal where we prepare food using my grandmother and Aunt Ilse's recipes. My father made my Oma's red and white cabbage, and my daughter made my Oma's potato dumplings and my Tante's Linzer tart. Alles schmeckt gut! We did get good news before Christmas. The PET scan was good showing improvement all around. So, the treatment is working. I was happy to hear it since they had switched drugs three times this year. We got some snow Friday into Saturday. It was not too bad, but it was tiring clearing three cars. It's a struggle clearing all but my dad's car. He has a two-door coupe which is really low to the ground. I can actually reach the roof of that car.

Read Last Week
I had a great reading week! It started really strong Sweet Thing which I loved despite it being an age gap romance. Far and Away and This Book Made Me Think of You both exceeded my expectations and earned 5-star ratings.
Far and Away was a fun and interesting story about two families doing a house swap. Both families experienced some pretty major life changes, and I absolutely LOVED the endings Poeppel wrote for each and every one of them. This Book Made Me Think of You was an emotional story about a woman who received the gift of a book a month for year from her deceased husband. These books were really meaningful and meant to help her heal and live again. If that wasn't enough, it was a love letter to books with so many name dropped. The sad elements were well balanced with great subplots centering around friendship and connection which elevated this book for me.

Currently Reading
I am halfway through Spectacular Things, and it is not what I expected. It's a story about mothers and daughters, and sisters and the sacrifices they make for each other. It's very good.
A Very Merry Matchup is quite fun. I love when families plot to set up their loved ones.
