My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! I hope all is well in your world. It's been a better than average week since my daughter flew in for a visit. Three months is too long! Work has been a bear but I am so happy my manager is back, so at least there will be some more support once she catches up on all the changes that happened over the past four months. I can hardly keep up, and I have been present for all the changes.
My shoe saga continues! I ordered another pair of shoes from Zappos to try. I got the shipping email which said my shoes would be delivered on the 11th. Then, it updated to the 12th. Then the updates stopped, and when I tried to check the status, it said the order didn't exist. I chatted in with customer service, and they tried to tell me they should be there, but they weren't. A replacement was sent out that is supposed to be here tomorrow. Fingers crossed they actually come and fit well. It may be a lot to ask, but I am trying to stay hopeful.

Stacking the Shelves
I got a lot of invites this week. Most not really in my wheelhouse, but I love to share with others. I keep thinking about reading Austin as her books are pretty popular. I feel like I should start with a library loan to see how I feel about her writing first though. Very excited to be approved for the new Heather McBreen since Wedding Dashers was a hit for me. The other two books are new-to-me authors but sound like good fits for me.

Read Last Week
My reading week ended with my first five-star read of the month. I adored Under the Southern Sky. I think this was the longest (page-wise) book I read, but I sped through it. It was warm and emotional, and I really loved it. I also enjoyed The Tryst. That series has been really strong. This time, instead of the spike in emotion coming from a suspense element, Bennett went straight for my heart. Regardless of the wreckage, it was a nice way to wrap up the three books.

ReplyDeleteI never knew whales were such little terrors
DeleteThe Vanishing Shoes! It's not funny but it does sound like a book or a movie Sam! Let's hope it doesn't become a saga!
