Can't-Wait Wednesday: Only a Breath Apart - Katie McGarry

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I can't wait for Only a Breath Apart!

Only a Breath Apart
Katie McGarry
Series: n/a
Age/Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Tor Teen
Release Date: January 22, 2019
Goodreads
Are our destinies written in stone? Do we become nothing more than the self-fulfilling prophesies of other people's opinions? Or can we dare to become who we believe we were born to be?

Jesse Jameson is in line to inherit the land that's been in his family for generations--there's just one catch: to prove his maturity, he has to win the approval of his former best friend, Scarlett Copeland, and her father. But when Jesse finds out that Scarlett's father is abusing her, he must decide what truly matters most: his family's land or helping the girl he's fallen in love with.
I love Katie McGarry so much! I will always be eager to read her next book.

  • Love this cover. It holds a promise of a precious romance, and I want to read all about it.
  • He has to win the girl and her dad to get the land - interesting....
  • And there is a hint at something in the past - former best friend, hmmmmmm
  • UGH! The dilemma! The land or the girl - the decision is a no-brainer for me, but I want to see how Jesse works through it.
  • I sense a lot of feels from this one.
Sloth is also eagerly awaiting Katie McGarry's new book

  2. Interesting; I always associate Tor with sci-fi and fantasy so that's cool they're putting out a contemporary!

    1. Sloth is seriously photogenic. 🤣 I think I have read a few Tor contemporaries, because you know that's all I read, but I think their fantasies are more popular

    1. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed her MC series, because I don't really read those, but her series was great

  5. Ahh love Sloth. Katie McGarry is a hit or miss author for me, sometimes her books tend to be too dramatic and full of angst for my taste.

    1. I am not a big angsty reader, but she balances it well, and gives me just the right amount and not one ounce too much.

  15. So many of McGarry's books sound wonderful. I have quite a few on my kindle that I just haven't read yet... (I need a system for reading books that have fallen down the digital rabbit hole.)

I hope you enjoy this one when it releases!

    1. I am making a rule, that I hope to stick to for once, to limit my ARCs to half my month's reading. I read about 25-30 books a month, so I can get in about 10-15 shelf books (if I do as I say).
