Well Met!
Happy Tuesday! Today, we are talking about authors we have met. My daughter and I used to attend quite a few bookish events. We had been to many signings in the city, BookCon, BEA, UtopiaCon, YallFest, and others. I have to admit, it's been a loooooog time since I have been to a bookish even, so I feel like these are all the same authors I have featured before and it's very YA heavy.
Who have you met?

I've never been to a BookCon or anything so I haven't met any authors. That always sounds like it would be fun though.
ReplyDeleteYou never get any local signings? I went to the few that we in NJ/PA and a few in the city, but it's a chore going to the city.
DeleteThis will be a bit of a throwback, but I remember meeting Mark Brown who wrote the Arthur children's books when I was in elementary. It was one of the first moments where I put it together that someone's job was to make up stories.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! I never met anyone who wrote the books I read as a kid, but I got close to Judy Blume one year at BookCon
DeleteKristoff and Meyer posing with Sloth? What nice people.
ReplyDeleteWe have many photos of people with Sloth. Even a Broadway star.
DeleteI live in the Midwest and we get no one here...lol However; I have attended several book cons and have met some fantastic authors.
ReplyDeleteI am close to NYC, so people come. I liked the bookstore appearances, but the cons are more bang for the effort.
DeleteI met Marissa Meyer at a book signing. She was lovely!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
She was very nice
DeleteI used to go to a lot of book events, too. I did the ALA a few years in different states and it was fun. I only go occasionally now since there aren't a lot around where I live.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to ALA
DeleteI've been lucky enough to meet a few great authors - Beatriz Williams, Fiona Davis, and Abby Jimenez, just to name a couple!
ReplyDeleteI love Jimenez.
DeleteWe do have some in common but I would love to meet Fredrik Backman!
ReplyDeleteHe was nice. I know how to say "Ove" because the woman in front of me asked and he told her.
