I have never considered myself a seasonal reading, but I am reaching for more and more books that star my favorite season, autumn. The Cozy Nook Bookshop took me to a small town in the beautiful state of Vermont. I was treated to so many things that we celebrate in fall - the colors of the leaves, pumpkins, and all the seasonal flavors I adore.
But there was more to this small town than its fall celebrations. It was a classic small town filled with well-intentioned meddlers and nosey neighbors who have known each other their whole lives. I delighted in meeting all the quirky inhabitants and had tons of fun line dancing, cooking, knitting, and simply being with them.
I also loved that we had a bookshop that did NOT need to be saved. In fact, the bookshop was more or less saving Emma. Her life in New York had imploded, and Emma needed to fix her living and job situations quick. It was a stroke of luck that she applied for and was hired to fill the position at the bookshop. Not only did she now have a job and a place to live, but the town was so welcoming, taking her under their wings and giving her a supportive environment where she could rebuild her life.
She never expected the grumpy park ranger to become so important to her, but I was excited for both Emma and Hunter. Hunter had kind of self isolated himself with the pain of his mother's death making him fear attachment to people. But as the old legend goes, "when two strangers meet at the Heart's Hope Crossing, they're destined to help each other find their heart's secret hope", and that is exactly what happened to Emma and Hunter. Hunter ended up being the type of lovable grump I have grown to expect, and it was a pleasure watching him and Emma get to know each other and fall in love.
Overall: A sweet and tender grumpy-sunshine small town romance which won my heart with its charm and fall vibes.

After her son shareed her less than stellar vacation photos, Miranda found herself a new viral internet star. This caught the attention of a travel company who sent two representatives to Half Moon Bay to chronicle the fall festival and officially introduce Miranda to the online world. But when Jim arrived, it seemed like more than leaves were falling.
This was a sweet and cute story, and really left me lusting for autumn. The fall was strong in this book, and I was here for it. I felt the crisp air, smelled the pumpkin spice, and could feel the leaves drifting past me. In case you couldn't tell, I am a total fall girl and absolutely loved getting to be part of the Half Moon Bay fall festival.
I was a fan of Miranda's as well. She was a single mom who dedicated herself to raising her son and growing the family business. She did an amazing job with both those tasks and also built a life for herself. It was a thrill to see a spark between her and Jim because she had been on her own for too long. She was a wonderful mother and that was displayed by the strength of the bond she and her adult son shared, and maybe it was time for her to share her life with someone else.
Overall, I had a wonderful time reveling in this autumnal world and had no problem rooting for Miranda and Jim as they made this a fall to remember.

I take bad pics LOL. Or, I did, back when I used real cameras. Now I take none at all, especially since I practically never leave home or the neighbourhood...
I really do feel like every book with a bookshop is saving it. It was kind of refreshing. I never took great pictures. I am so proud when I get a good one.
