Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.
This week I can't wait for

A beloved Japanese bestseller, The Menu of Happiness is for fans of Before the Coffee Gets Cold and asks the question: What’s the one dish you’d do anything to taste just one more time?
Every memory has a flavor. A very special restaurant in Kyoto helps find them . . .
Tucked away down a Kyoto backstreet lies the extraordinary Kamogawa Diner, run by Chef Nagare and his daughter, Koishi. The father-daughter duo have reinvented themselves as “food detectives,” offering a service that goes beyond cooking mouthwatering meals. Through their culinary sleuthing, they harness the power of taste to rekindle forgotten memories.
From the yakisoba holding the memories of precious first love to the dumplings shared between sworn enemies, each client will be forever changed by what they find on the menu, because the Kamogawa Diner doesn’t just serve meals—it’s a door to the past.
I am such a fan of this series and was thrilled to see a new installment was on its way. I totally agree with food and memories sharing a strong link, and I love the way the author explores it. I cannot wait to see what recipes they have to track down in Menu of Happiness.

Debbie Macomber’s poignant novel of moving on and trusting the power of love is available for the first time as an eBook.
Carly Grieves is made of strong stuff. Tough and adventurous, she journeys to the wilds of Alaska looking for a new beginning. She finds more than she bargained for in Brand St. Clair, a rugged bush pilot who stirs something primal inside Carly that shocks her with its intensity. But he’s also a man with wounds, a widower stuck in the past. Carly desires him deeply, but she can’t compete with a dead woman for a place in his heart.
From the moment she sasses him, Brand knows there’s something special about Carly. She makes him want to love again, to reach for a new kind of happiness. As much pain as he has known, he’s ready to make his own fresh start with Carly. But first, the walls she’s built have to come down. Now Brand won’t give up until he convinces Carly that the biggest risk of her life is actually the safest move she could make: loving him.
I was late to the Macomber game, and let's face it, she has written a BILLION books. I do try to read a few each year. I was inspired to go deep here (originally released in 1985) for a reading challenge prompt. I have no doubt this book will be enjoyable, and the grief and loss plot point is one you all know I enjoy.
