I have not read the Ten Beach Road books (yet!), but I have adored the other books I have read by Wax. Both books featured complex women and strong female friendship which never fail to win my heart. I definitely feel the female friendship vibe here, and I like the hint of mystery surrounding her grandmother. I am looking forward to meeting all these women and seeing what choice Sydney makes regarding her future in Hollywood.

I read my first Norman book last year, Charm City Rocks, and fell in love with his storytelling. I am determined to read his entire backlist and am starting here with one from my shelf. This seems like it could be bittersweet with a dying man summoning his friends for one last hurrah, but I trust Norman to infuse it with lots of warmth and humor.
