Sundays with Sam - The Sunday Post

Sundays with Sam is a combination of Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

My Week in Review

You know, I did more last week than I had in a really long time. It's always fun spending time with my daughter. When she comes home, she likes to indulge in all the foods she cannot get in Chicago. It was a great food tour. I ate out for the first time, but outside. I still won't eat indoors, but with the weather this nice, I like having the outdoor option at many places that didn't have it before.

Well, that's all the excitement I had last week. How about you?

I always love Noor's posts on the WLABB Instagram

This filled me with glee!

What I Read Last Week

I will declare this week another reading success. No 5-star books, but many were *so* close. Kinsella continues to warm my heart and make me laugh, and I can say the same for the Bromance boys. The books that stood out the most to me was Finding Balance. At the end, when the author talks about getting to see a girl who looks like her on the cover of a book, you know I got emotional, but the story was also very good and presenting a perspective I have not seen much of in YA, that of the cancer survivor.

Books
Audiobooks

Audiobooks are so tricky for me. I may have been too ambitious with the type of stories I listened to this week, and that sometimes affects my feelings of the story. I think The Walls Around Us and Watch Over Me would have been better for me as books. Darius' sequel was wonderful, and I loved catching up with him.

What I Am Currently Reading

I started the Dahlia Moss series back in 2016 with an ARC from BEA. I loved the book, but did not get the other two companions until this year. I am having a great time with Dahlia, as expected, while she takes on the Twitch community.

Tiffany D. Jackson is always fabulous, and she is so good at creating tension and keeping me flipping those pages. She is also taking on a tough topic, that of older men preying on young women. She and other authors talked about their personal experiences here

What I Plan to Read

Can I admit that I wanted to read David Tung because the title made me laugh? I hope the rest of the book is just as funny. I liked Namey's debut, and Cuban Girl's Guide sounds even more adorable. I know! I was supposed to read Snapped last week, but I need a partner book for a post, so I switched to this week.

How was your week?
