Can't Wait Wednesday!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.

This week I can't wait for:
Mind the Gap, Dash & Lily

Rachel Cohn, David Levithan
Series: Dash & Lily, #3
Age/Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers
Release Date: October 20, 2020
Goodreads
For Dash and Lily, it's beginning to look a lot like...distance! Just in time for the series release of Dash & Lily on Netflix comes a new helping of love--this time across the pond as best-selling authors Rachel Cohn and David Levithan send Dash and Lily to England.

Dash and Lily were feeling closer than ever...it's just too bad they're now an ocean apart. After Dash gets accepted to Oxford University and Lily stays in New York to take care of her dogwalking business, the devoted couple are struggling to make a long distance relationship work. And when Dash breaks the news that he won't be coming home for Christmas, Lily makes a decision: if Dash can't come to her, she'll join him in London. It's a perfect romantic gesture...that spins out of Lily's control. Soon Dash and Lily are feeling more of a gap between them, even though they're in the same city. Will London bring them together again--or will it be their undoing?
Why I want to read this book

Why do I want to read it?! Because Dash & Lily are back! The first D&L book was a 5-star favorite for me back in 2014, and I jumped up and down when I saw we were getting a third book. This is like a dream come true for me. How many times have you guys heard me claim, "I want more"? Getting to watch Dash & Lily's relationship grow and change is such a gift.I love that this installment will take us abroad as well. Fingers crossed it's not as heavy as the last book. I want to see the Dash and Lily from the first book.

Star basketball player Chelsea "Nitro" Keyes had the promise of a full ride to college—and everyone's admiration in her hometown. But everything changed senior year, when she took a horrible fall during a game. Now a metal plate holds her together and she feels like a stranger in her own family. As a graduation present, Chelsea's dad springs for a three-week summer "boot camp" program at a northern Minnesota lake resort. There, she's immediately drawn to her trainer, Clint, a nineteen-year-old ex-hockey player who's haunted by his own traumatic past. As they grow close, Chelsea is torn between her feelings for Clint and her loyalty to her devoted boyfriend back home. Will an unexpected romance just end up causing Chelsea and Clint more pain—or finally heal their heartbreak?
Why I want to read this book

This book came on my radar, when I was searching for books for my 50 States challenge. It has sat as a just-in-case MN book for quite a while, but I am digging it out because I am in the mood for some sports. I like the two sports that are highlighted in this book, as well as the premise that both have suffered some sort of major heartbreak in their past. The synopsis eludes to some sort of "cheating", but I am curious to get the whole story.
