Could ten days at a health resort really change you forever? In Liane Moriarty’s latest page-turner, nine perfect strangers are about to find out...

Nine people gather at a remote health resort. Some are here to lose weight, some are here to get a reboot on life, some are here for reasons they can’t even admit to themselves. Amidst all of the luxury and pampering, the mindfulness and meditation, they know these ten days might involve some real work. But none of them could imagine just how challenging the next ten days are going to be.

Frances Welty, the formerly best-selling romantic novelist, arrives at Tranquillum House nursing a bad back, a broken heart, and an exquisitely painful paper cut. She’s immediately intrigued by her fellow guests. Most of them don’t look to be in need of a health resort at all. But the person that intrigues her most is the strange and charismatic owner/director of Tranquillum House. Could this person really have the answers Frances didn’t even know she was seeking? Should Frances put aside her doubts and immerse herself in everything Tranquillum House has to offer – or should she run while she still can?

It’s not long before every guest at Tranquillum House is asking exactly the same question.
I am known to check out a few of those "BIG" commercial fiction books from the library every now and again, and that led me to Big Little Lies back in 2015. My love affair with Moriarty began with that book, and I went on to read and love all her other novels.

Liane Moriarty is a go-to for me. She is the master of weaving her characters' lives together in such amazing ways, and she often throws in a nice twist right there at the end, which leaves me with my jaw on the floor. I will always wait eagerly for her next release, and know I will be delighted.

What are you waiting on?

  1. I feel the same way about Liane Moriarty- Big Little Lies was a new kind of read for me and I loved it! I haven't read all of her books yet but I did like the Husband's secret and Truly Madly Guilty- I still need to get to What Alice Forgot- so yeah she's pretty much an auto- but for me now too.

    1. What Alice Forgot is high on my list. I really loved that one. The last Anniversary had a great little twist in there too.

    1. That was good, but not even my favorite. The Husband's Secret is one I loved, because she hits you with this HUGE reveal right at the very end.

  5. Wow, look at all those 5 star ratings! I've only read one of hers (The Husband's Secret) and *really* disliked it (unpopular opinion time!) so I've never felt led to pick anything else up. I hope this latest one is another 5 star read for you!!

  19. I love Moriarty, but TRULY MADLY GUILTY just did not do it for me at all. The book was a huge disappointment. I'm hoping NINE PERFECT STRANGERS is as good as her earlier novels. I've loved all the ones I've read by her, except TMG!

    1. My least favorite was actually The Hypnotist's Love Story, which I read right before Truly, and therefore, Truly seemed like a return to form.
