Five Star Friday: October 2020
On the first Friday of each month, I will share my five-star reads from the previous month. Fingers crossed, I have lots of books to tell you about.
I conquered 39 books in October. Alas, there were 6 DNFs, BUT there were also 6 5-star rated books.

On the first Friday of each month, I will share my five-star reads from the previous month. Fingers crossed, I have lots of books to tell you about.
People! September was another fantastic reading month! It ended a bit shaky, but I am still ecstatic about how it went in general. I read 38 books, 9 of which earned 5-stars. Not too shabby!

Can't Wait Wednesday!
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.
This week I can't wait for:

Top Ten Tuesday: Celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
Celebrating Asian Pacific American
Heritage Month!
Heritage Month!
Actually, the TTT topic was last ten books I abandoned, but I never really feel like doing the negative leaning topics. I want to use my time and space to celebrate the books that made me happy and brought me joy. Therefore, I decided to spotlight some books I absolutely loved, which feature a character of Asian Pacific heritage and/or written by an author of Asian Pacific American heritage. All of these books rated between 4.5 - 5 stars for me, are mostly my more recent reads, and included the links to the reviews.

Top Ten Tuesday: Waiting and Winning!
Here I am, going off topic again, but I just wasn't feeling this week's topic. Instead, I decided to take a look back at some of my Can't Wait Wednesday (Waiting on Wednesday) picks. This is a meme I adore. It's me making predictions about which books I believe will be winners for me. I also like to think of it as my wish to the universe, that I get my hands on this book, read it, and love it. As I was going back through my CWW picks, I realized I have read most of them, and you know what? Many have rated between 4.5 and 5 stars. It's a testament to how good I am at picking out books for myself.
Without further ado, here are ten of my past CWW picks, which have all been stupendous reads for me. I have read all these in the past year, and provided links to my reviews (if you're interested).

Top Ten Tuesday: Outside YA
Outside YA!
Today, we are supposed to highlight books we don't usually feature. WLABB was started as a YA blog, and I try to stay true to the founding bloggers vision by featuring mostly YA books. But, I do read outside of YA, and I have encountered some real gems, which I want to scream about. Without further ado, here are some brilliant middle grades books I have read, in the recent past, which deserve some of my love.

Top Ten Tuesday: Recently Added
I sort of always share my stacking the shelves via my Sunday Post. I cannot really remember the last time I added a physical book. I think I won one last year, but I sent it to a blogger in Puerto Rico for her classroom. Therefore, I want to talk about books I've added to my TBR, since I sort of just do that (a LOT) on the DL.

Top 10 of 2019: Cover Love
It's the end of the year, and that means BEST OF lists! I find this task difficult, but I enjoy it so much.
Top 10 of 2019 is a hosted by Kimberly Faye Reads and Ginger. Today's topic is...
Cover Love!
I have always been upfront about what a cover-ho I am. The cover of a book is so important to me, and will be one of the things, that make me take a closer look. This was illustrated covers were EVERYWHERE! And, I found my favorite covers all seemed to fall into this category, but they also did a nice job of capturing the tone of the story or actually featuring something of significance to the book. And, not only did I love the covers, I loved these books!

Top 10 of 2019: Captivating Characters
It's the end of the year, and that means BEST OF lists! I find this task difficult, but I enjoy it so much.
Top 10 of 2019 is a hosted by Kimberly Faye Reads and Ginger. Today's topic is...
My love of a book usually relies heavily on my love of the characters. All of these books featured multiple stand-out characters, who I was naturally drawn to, and wanted to get to know better.
