Can't Wait Wednesday!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am combining CWW with Books From the Backlog hosted by Carole at Carole's Random Life in Books. This will allow me to feature some newly "rediscovered" books, which I plan on reading, alongside a new release.

Top Ten Tuesday: Recently Added

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Recently Added!

I sort of always share my stacking the shelves via my Sunday Post. I cannot really remember the last time I added a physical book. I think I won one last year, but I sent it to a blogger in Puerto Rico for her classroom. Therefore, I want to talk about books I've added to my TBR, since I sort of just do that (a LOT) on the DL.

Top 10 of 2019: Books I Wish I Read in 2019

It's the end of the year, and that means BEST OF lists! I find this task difficult, but I enjoy it so much.

Top 10 of 2019 is a hosted by Kimberly Faye Reads and Ginger. Today's  topic is...

Books I Wish I Read in 2019!

I have read over 400 books this year, but still, there are some that slipped through the cracks. Below are some of the YA 2019 releases, I wish I had read, and I hope to read as my #Throwback2019 books.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books Make Great Gifts!

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Books Make Great Gifts!

When I was reflecting on this topic, I realized how lucky I am. First of all, I prefer electronic copies of books, so I don't get sad about not getting physical ARCs and whatnot (though, some of those boxes are amazing). Then, I am lucky enough to get a lot of new and newer releases via NetGalley, Edelweiss, and my public library system. Therefore, I struggle with the original topic, but I thought of listing some of the ARC requests I was rejected for, so maybe if someone is looking for a gift for me, they can keep these books in mind. Without further ado, here are some books I was rejected for, but still want to read.

Top Ten Tuesday: Tis the Season

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Tis the Season!

Now that we have celebrated Thanksgiving Day in the States, we can commence with the Christmas Season! I don't tend to read a ton of holiday books, so please excuse the overlap. I do however plan to read more. For now, I am sharing some wonderful and heartwarming YA books, which are set during the holiday season.

Top Ten Tuesday: By the Numbers

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

By the Numbers!

I love a good challenge, and I had fun combing my read shelves looking for book titles featuring numbers. You would think there are numbers everywhere, right? Wrong. I guess I don't read a lot of books with numeric titles, but here are some I throughly enjoyed.

Top Ten Tuesday: Beat the Backlist

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Beat the Backlist!

My backlist makes up most of my TBR, and is therefore, endless, but I always like taking that hard look at my backlist, and getting input from you guys, as to which books I should really, really try to read.

Top Ten Tuesday: "LOVE" is in the Air

"LOVE" is in the Air!

This week, I assembled a list of YA books I read with titles, that feature the word LOVE in some form.

Sundays with Sam - The Sunday Post

Sundays with Sam is a combination of Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

My Week in Review

Not much to say about this week. We got free lunch and breakfast twice at work, but my favorite thing was the extra jeans day we had to celebrate the Eagles' Super Bowl win. I work close to Philly, so it was a big deal. I was happy that they were happy.

I am so jealous of everyone at ALA. I hope to someday attend, but both locations this year were too far for me. *sad face* They are giving out some awesome books. So, if you were there, you were terribly lucky.

BUT, WLABB finally reached 400 followers on Bloglovin'. I was really happy about that.

Can't-Wait Wednesday: Piper - Jay Asher & Jessica Freeburg

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I can't wait for Piper!

Piper
Jay Asher, Jessica Freeburg
Series: n/a
Release Date: October 31, 2017
Publisher: Razorbill
Waited on by: Sam
Long ago, in a small village in the middle of a deep, dark forest, there lived a lonely, deaf girl named Maggie. Shunned by her village because of her disability, her only comfort comes from her vivid imagination. Maggie has a gift for inventing stories and dreams of one day finding her fairy-tale love.

When Maggie meets the mysterious Piper, it seems that all her wishes are coming true. Spellbound, Maggie falls hard for him and plunges headfirst into his magical world. But as she grows closer to the Piper, Maggie discovers that he has a dark side.

The boy of Maggie's dreams might just turn out to be her worst nightmare...
First and foremost, let us admire the cover. Isn't it lovely?

Now, why do I want to read this book? This book came to my attention because Jay Asher was involved with it. I had read and enjoyed two of his previous books, and therefore, wanted to read his new book.

After that, I realized this as a re-telling, and I love a good re-telling. This story is based on the Pied Piper, and I have to admit, it's not a tale I have seen redone. Therefore I am interested in seeing how Asher and Freeburg spin this story. I also like that it features a character with a disability. And seriously, look at that last line: The boy of Maggie's dreams might just turn out to be her worst nightmare....

What are you waiting on?
