My Week in Review

Howdy, all! Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. I am grateful my dad is still here to celebrate. Last year, he was in the hospital, but we are going out today. I am getting him a Fudgy the Whale too (he likes Carvel).

They did this big event at my job for the start of the World Cup because my company is one of the sponsors. I did not go, but David Beckham videoed in and there were snacks and gifts. We also had a short work week with the Juneteeth holiday on Friday. I used that day to replace my laptop. I cannot remember when I got my MacBook Air, and there was nothing wrong with it, but I could no longer update the OS which was needed to keep the web browsers current. I have already had identity theft issues, so I had to fix that. Since all I do is web-based stuff, I went with the MacBook Neo. It took me about a half hour to get it all set up with my passwords and what not (Google makes one jump through some hoops!), and it is working out great.

Stacking the Shelves

I was excited to get approved for the new Naymon. I adored her debut, so obviously I wanted to read her follow-up. I also bought The Hygge Holiday after seeing it on my feed. I never heard of it, but it definitely sounds like a ME book.

Read Last Week

My goodness, I read some lovely books this week. I had a DNF and one did not life up to the author's previous book for me, but the others were perfection. It seems the quiet stories really stole my heart.

Life: A Love Story was a beautiful tale of a woman at the end of her life sharing her wisdom and her life story. I was captivated.

I also loved Whistler. I had no idea what to expect from this book, but I trusted in Patchett, and she did not let me down. Super quiet, character driven story about a woman who bumps into one of her step-fathers after a 44 year absence. It was a pleasure being part of their personal journeys as they worked through their past and learned a lot about themselves.
