My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! It's been a wintery week here in NJ. We had two snow storms this week. Tuesday, we got about 6 inches, and Friday night, we saw more than 8 inches dumped on us. The good news was that they let us work from home on Tuesday and the snow cleared out quickly. I hate snow. I hope there is no more in the future.
It was nice to work from home two days. It saves me money, but I have also been so tired lately. This three-day weekend is a very welcome thing. I don't have any big plans, so I can catch up on some stuff. I have to do my taxes, but I don't own anything, I am single and poor, so my taxes are really easy.
I have to go for a shiva visit today. It so happens that my niece's fiancé's grandmother was a friend of my mother's. They played mahjongg together for years. Small world!

I added quite a few books this week, but I could not resist the two Read-Now books, and the other books were free and on my TBR. I had to download them. It was great getting approved for Waxman's new book, too. I adore her books and will forever read them all.

Such a banner week! Those Meet-Cute short stories are so good. I cannot wait to read more. I think I should not be surprised that Jimenez's book was such a win for me. All her book have been wonderful, and if I am being honest, I would have read a full-length with these two characters. They were great, their story was great. Just so good!

I loved Dwyer's last book, and so far, so good with her follow up. This is a grief and loss book with some wildness survival thrown in there. I have also been enjoying the D.C. Eagles Hockey series. This is a brother's-best friend romance which has been lots of fun.

I hope that there will be no more snow coming your way in the future, Sam! Like you, I quite enjoy the WFH/WFO balance and I miss it. I love the covers for all the books you've listed here. 😍 Lots that I haven't heard of before but the covers have me curious so I'm gonna look them up. I did read Well, That Was Unexpected last year and I really enjoyed it. First YA with Indonesian characters that I've ever read and it was fun. I hope you enjoy all your reads and have a great week ahead!

ReplyDeleteI do one of those online programs. I was done in 15 minutes. Right now, there is no snow in the forecast. Still cold in the morning but getting warmer as the week wears on.

DeleteMy daughter said the same thing when she did her taxes. At least she didn't owe anything. I wouldn't mind a little snow but I am glad I live somewhere we don't get a lot of snow.
ReplyDeleteYou think you want snow until you get it. It's a pain to travel in, and I have get three cars cleared since my parents can't do it. It only looks pretty for a little bit as well. It quickly turns to an ugly mess. I guess you can tell I won't be chosen as the snow ambassador.

ReplyDeleteDo you get winter weather in the part of the state where you live? I know there is a possibility, but not sure if that happens near you. I hate snow. I have to dig out three cars when it snows. I am too old for this. HA
DeleteWhoa, that snow on Saturday was a total surprise! I was thinking we'd maybe get an inch or two and was totally shocked when I looked outside.
ReplyDeleteWe were forecast 3-5, so the weather overachieved this time. I heard some areas nearby got like 12 - 15. I would be dead.

Seriously, it took me longer to enter my bank information than to get through all the tax questions. It's been so cold in the morning. I am so over winter.
DeleteMy husband was in RI for the snow storm and had to do a lot of shoveling for his parents. Luckily, his flight out was the next day so he didn't miss it.
ReplyDeleteWe had a snow storm a few weeks ago and they are so unprepared for that type of weather. It shut everything down for a week while they wait for it to melt.
NO MORE SNOW for both of us! lol
The in-laws made out with this storm. Aren't you in the PNW? I would think they get some winter there. Huh. Things do NOT shut down here. I mean, we're Maine or Vermont, but they get the snow cleared pretty quickly.
