Scene Stealers!
Happy Tuesday! Today, we are talking about outstanding supporting characters. For me, these are the ones that make an impression and often steal every scene they appear in. While I was reviewing my read-shelf, I noted that many of the characters I adored were family members or found-family members. I think they tend to play an important role in the main character's journey, and thus, make an impression on me. Unfortunately, I do suffer from the inability to remember character's names. No lie! I often have to look up the main characters' names when I write reviews. Please excuse me as I try to assemble this list.
- Abby Offsides by Anna McCallie - Abby's UK bestie was fierce and fantastic. I think her name was Amina, I could be wrong. She had me rolling every time she was on page. I adored the hero's mother as well. She was so lovely and lent her strength to Abby when she needed it.
- Romantic Hero by Kirsty Greenwood - The heroine had an incredible and quirky neighbor, Mrs. Casablancas. She was a retired professor who made odd hats and conducted the manifestation ceremony that helped the hero be part of their world.
- Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan - Dolly's family were great and such an asset to this story.
- Lucky by Sawyer Bennett - I was a big fan of Lucky's mom. She was the perfect Italian-American mom who stole the scene and my heart.
- One & Only by Maurene Goo - Cassia came from a big family, and it was always so much fun to be with them all, but the women of the family stole the show for sure.
- Just Don't Fall by Emma St. Clair - I adored the Appie's players and how they were so protective of the heroine. They stepped up to help the hero with his grand gesture too.
- First and Forever by Lynn Painter - Duffy's dad was a total character and reminded me of relatives I have.
- The Name Game by Beth O'Leary - The people of this town were fantastic. I loved getting to know them all.
- Checking It Twice by Kendall Ryan - I hate them for myself, but for some reason, meddling relatives endear themselves to me in books.
- This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page - The bookshop was such a special place and one of the reasons why was because the bookshop family was so special. I loved their rapport and vibe and the way they embraced Tilly as one of their own.
Can you think of some scene stealers?
