My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is doing well. Not much to report back here. It's still summer, though, we had a day or two with low humidity which felt so wonderful! That came on the heels of some major rain. We had a storm come through on Monday which prompted the governor to declare a state of emergency due to flash flooding. Sections of my parking lot had water covering the wheel wells and up to the windows of some cars. I think I saw that we got over 2 inches of rain in 60 minutes. We may not have had much snow last winter, but it's been a wet spring and summer.
I went into the office Tuesday through Thursday. It was nice to see some people again. My commute was uneventful (good thing). They have been remodeling our common spaces in our building. Some of the changes are nice, but I would love to tell the person who picked the carpeting to return it to 1980s Miami. It's a sight. Glad most of the floor is tiled.

Stacking the Shelves
Lot's of goodies this week. A few books on my TBR were on deep sales, so I one-clicked. I downloaded another freebie from Watson. I really need to read them both now. I got some invites. A few I already had, and I got approved for Goldbeck's book. I downloaded the new Zetterberg book. I had been thinking about it for a while and probably already have enough ARCs for that month, but I really adored her last book, so I had to do it.

Read Last Week
It was a solid week. A few of my 4-star books were close to 4.5, but there were small niggles that held me back. My favorite book was Love at First Sighting. I adored this fun romance. I am never sure about social media star characters, but I did love El, and Carter was a sweetheart Man in Black.

Your comment about the carpet made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteIt is ugly! Every time I walk past it, I cringe.
DeleteOMG Sam I think every car in the flood is out of service! That's impressive and horrifying ! Also now I wouldn't mind a stingray as a pet LOL
