My Week in Review

Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a great week. What happened this week? Nothing much. There are a bunch of changes going on with my role at work. I am bit worried. Right now, we have five people to cover all our duties, but the decision was made to move a few things to another group. I admit, these things had NOTHING to do with complaints, but they were big chunks of our job. I start training the new group tomorrow, and I suppose, only time with tell what will happen to me. I just know I don't want to go back to my old role. So, I could be looking for something new though I hope my seniority and performance keeps me in my role. 

I have been looking for next year's vacation. I have sent lots of possibilities to the kid, but have yet to hear back. I always did land tours with Adventures by Disney. The tours were kind of expensive, but they were all inclusive, more of less. I am looking at other tour packages, and I have to keep remembering to add in the cost of things like airport transfers and all the dinners they do not provide. There are still some good ones out there. 

I still am trying to catch up, and I found myself unable to finish my weekly TBR. I know it's not a big deal, but it bugs me. I have been so exhausted. I would go out on the patio to read at night and find that I have dozed off. My night reading has been abysmal but at least I am still getting some good, quality reading done in the AM.

Stacking the Shelves

This was the best invite week I have ever had. I am honored to get invites, but they are rarely for books I want to read. This week, I already downloaded three of the four books. I ADORE Rebecca Serle, and Erin Connor's debut was a favorite of mine this year. Love and Other Brain Experiments looked fun, so I get it a click. 

I did buy one book, but it was not for me. I sent The Correspondent to my mother. I heard amazing things about this book and have a library hold in for it, but my mother doesn't like to deal with library loans *eye roll*. I could not let that $1.99 price go by.

Read Last Week

I had a clear favorite but want to mention two books that stood out for me this week. I LOVED Gracie Harris! This book was so "me". It was a beautiful story of grief and healing punctuated by a lovely romance. I adored the way Gracie's heart slowly mended and opened as she renovated her summer home, the last big thing she did with her husband before his untimely death. The story was sweet, humorous, and touching and simply perfect for me. I also really enjoyed Pitcher Perfect. I cannot believe how Bailey was able to get me to change my mind about this hero. His antics in previous books did not make look good in my eyes, but he grew tremendously, and I grew to love him.

Currently Reading

I am loving the Emily Stone book. This book has a different feel for her. I am used to crying a lot when I read her books. I do feel she has been getting more gentle with us readers, but this is a straight forward second chance romance (so far). I can tell the hero regrets letting the heroine go, and I know I would like to see them together at the end of this fake dating, and Christmas! I love reading books set during the holidays, and here I am celebrating in Scotland. 

I had some interesting prompts for my reading challenges this month. Two were "dark side" and weapons. We all know I don't lean dark, but I think Assistant to the Villain is dark enough for the prompt. In reality, it's quite amusing, lots of humor, and I am enjoying it.
