My Week in Review
Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a great week. It was more of the same here in, as my grandmother would say, the krankenhaus. Tuesday will be my father's last round of chemo. He will be down and out for close to two weeks, but at least the end is near.
Thursday is a federal holiday, so I get a day off this week. I thought the day would be free, but then my mother's tooth fell out. Now, I have to take her to the dentist. It's another told-you-so thing because this has happened before when she eats bagels. --sigh--
It's a rainy day as I write this, but I don't mind. It's in the 60s! It was over 90 the other day, and I really don't like the heat. The air quality has been miserable too. Bring the clouds, the rain, and cool temps.

Stacking the Shelves
Thrilled to get approved for the new Libby Hubscher. I enjoy her book immensely. I saw Probst's book for free, so I one clicked. I have never read her books, so I am curious and the word "book" is in the title. Good omen, right? I also got an invite for the new Mochizuki book. I loved the last one, so I may download it.

Read Last Week
This was an interesting week. Books I expected to rate 4.5 - 5 stars didn't, but some surprised me. My top read was my last for the week, How Freaking Romantic. I had read the co-writes by this author, so I knew I would like it, but it went beyond my expectations. I needed a book set in Utah and randomly selected The One with the Kiss Cam. This is a new-to-me author, and I must say, the book surprised me in the best ways. It was fun and super cute, and I adored the characters. It was a good time.

I'm glad the chemo is coming to an end.
ReplyDeleteHopefully something happened this time. This is the third time.
DeleteI'm glad your dad's chemo is almost finished. That is rough.
ReplyDeleteIt's been very different from the other two times. This medication is a lot stronger.
DeleteHappy to hear your dad's chemo treatments are almost finished. I hope he bounces back quickly. Bummer about your mom's tooth! Maybe she should cut up the bagel if she really wants to eat them? I've enjoyed Linda Lael Miller in the past. I look forward to your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI just hope it's slowed the spread. That was the goal with the pills. Don't even get me started on the tooth. My mother has spent over $20K on those teeth. She needs to work harder to protect her investment. Exactly! I told her to cut it up too. I am not the only one.
DeleteGlad your father's almost done with chemo! My dad will be starting radiation soon and possibly chemo - he has an appointment to find out on the 23rd.
ReplyDeleteI hope all goes well for you dad, Nicole!
