Top Ten Tuesday - In a Word

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

In a Word!

Happy Tuesday! Today is a toughie. We were challenged (and I mean it!) to write one word reviews for our last ten books. Can one word do a book justice? I don't think so, but here we go!

  1. Entities to Lovers by Mallory Marlowe - Spirited
  2. Back for Seconds by Betty Corrello - Family-focused
  3. Free Falling by Lyla Sage - Fauxmantic
  4. The MASH Up by Laura Marie Meyers - Madcap
  5. It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder by Ally Carter - Fast-paced
  1. A Date with Santa by Debbie Macomber - Festive
  2. Unapologetic Love Story by Elle McNicoll - Unapologetic 😏
  3. A Pinch of Magic by Emily Heil - Satisfying
  4. The Somewhat Wicked Witch of Brigandale by C.M. Waggoner - Wacky
  5. Under the Orchard's Spell by Ann Adams - Kismet

    😂😂😂

I love that you used non-banal words like "fauxmantic" and "kismet".

As far as words in English go, I like "counterintuitive" for some reason. I found I use it often in reviews. Also "punctilious" 😂. These are the first ones that come to mind at the moment. Funnily enough, they are both very similar to the Italian words they translate.

    1. I actually love words. The English authors give me some great archaic ones for my arsenal though I cannot say I have ever used them in a sentence. punctilious is new to me

  2. This is such a tough challenge. If anything, I feel like my reviews have only gotten wordier as I've aged!

    1. HA! I focused on a feeling or something that stood out. How can you capture a whole book in one word!!!!
