This was a rivals-to-lovers-best-friend's-brother romance, and it was a good one. I am always here for a STEM heroine, and Quincy dominated in a field I don't have a ton of knowledge in. I must say, reading about all the storms brought back memories from when I lived in Florida. The stress of hurricane season is real. Curto really captured that frenetic energy while keeping it interesting.
As much as I loved Quincy, I adored Sebastian. I am all for a pining hero, and he did it panache. His interest was obvious and never wavered. It was in the little things and the big things he did. He was a man of action, and both me and Quincy fell in love with him because of that.
Overall: I had an incredible time chasing storms with Quincy and Sebastian as they surrendered to those lightening strikes and fell in love.

There is nothing like a lovable grump for me, and though he would probably protest, that was Alistair to a tee. Alistair and Isla did not seem like a perfect match when I first met them, but I loved the way Isla's energy helped dig Alistair out of his hole. I think Teddy, the cute kid, helped a lot too, and it was so wonderful watching him grow and change.
Isla was scrappy, and I was pulling for her. Her ex was the WORST, and Alistair was there in the background showing he cared. I will never get enough of heroes who quietly support the heroine. They don't grandstand or need to call attention, they just act. I love that!
As a fan of this series, it was a treat to be back with the Macabe's. The family dynamic is always great, but I don't care if this is the Macabe BROTHERS series, I am still pulling for a book for Heather, the sister. She really deserves it.
