From the New York Times -bestselling author of Ghosted and The Love of My Life comes another love story wrapped in a an up-all-night thriller with a dark secret at its core

2010. Carrie and Johan, madly in love, marry on the beach in Thailand, five months into their whirlwind romance. Carrie, a British surgical intern, knows she’s being uncharacteristically impulsive but is too happy to care. But as the wedding festivities stretch into the night, armed men swarm the beach and arrest Johan for crimes unknown. In police custody, Johan refuses to see or speak to Carrie. She never sees him again.

2022. Carrie is settled in the English countryside with her husband, Robin, and their six-year-old twins. After a difficult entry into motherhood, Carrie has given up her career as a physician and has convinced herself that life as a mother and wife is enough. Until she stumbles across an online post that makes her realize Johan is out of prison—has been out for years. As the memories of their intense, passionate relationship return to her, she becomes obsessed with discovering the truth about what happened on that beach all those years ago—even if that means putting her marriage and family in jeopardy.

And just when Carrie thinks she knows what she must do, a shocking twist confirms the truth found in every Rosie Walsh Everyone has something to hide. The One Day You Were My Husband asks readers what—and whom—they would give up to return to a first love, and to the people they once were.

Carrie and Jonah were so in love that they spontaneously married on a Thai beach. But that same night, Jonah was taken into custody for crimes that shock Carrie. Twelve years later, Carrie is a mother and a wife when she discovers that Jonah was pardoned and back home in Sweden. This reopens wounds and drives Carrie need for the full story. This leap back into her past may jeopardize the life she built and break her heart all over again.

If you have read any of Rosie Walsh's books, you know what you are in for. There was a love story which I was easily swept up in, and then a disappearance of sorts. Walsh slowly fed me bits of the backstory and revealed pieces of the puzzle. There were some twists and turns, and I must admit, I did NOT see the big reveal coming. It was shocking.

All of Walsh's books have been hits for me. They are compelling blend of romance, mystery, suspense, and family drama that never fail to keep me flipping the pages.

Overall: A definite page turner for me.

When your life flashes before your eyes, where would you stop?

No one can change the past, but the Midnight Train can take you there. The chance to re-live the moments that meant most. To see what kind of person you really were.

For Wilbur his best days were with Maggie, the love of his life. On his honeymoon in Venice.

Before he gave it all away.

He wishes he could go back and live differently. But to do so risks everything . . .

A magical, time-travelling love story, from the world of The Midnight Library.

Wilbur dies after receiving a call from his ex-wife, and shortly thereafter, finds himself on the Midnight Train. This train was set to take him to his eternity, but first, he had to revisit pivotal moments in his life. The trip was filled with much regret for Wilbur as he plotted a way to change the outcome.

Another thoughtful and thought provoking book from Haig. He is an author who never fails to stoke my emotions and make me think deeply. The story delivers a strong reminder to treasure all the moments and important people in our lives, to remember to spend time building memories and not rushing toward the future. It's easy to lose sight of but something very important.

Wilbur's story broke my heart because he worked so hard for all these material comforts and they came at the expense of the people he loved. In the end, he was alone, but he he learned a lot by revisiting the past. I loved that he was willing to risk it all to set things right. I was so excited to see how this book was connected to The Midnight Library. It's towards the end, so pay attention.

Overall: An emotional and touching story about what makes a life worth living.

Where would you take the Midnight Train?
