This book is set in the 1970s, in the heyday of the Poconos. Think heart shaped hot tubs and all that kitsch. The fictional Red Maple Inn was a lovely, classic resort that was going through some growing pains, but makes a comeback as well as serves as a refuge for a sick teen and his grieving sister. Joella did a wonderful job capturing the magic and beauty of the mountains in this emotional and touching story.
