He’s starting his rookie season in the NHL…

Noah Downsby has always had one goal: play professional hockey. Now that he’s finally made it, he’s determined to prove himself. And if he’s going to have the best rookie season in NHL history, he needs zero distractions.

But Noah didn’t plan for Allegra—Ally—Callahan moving in with him.

With her sassy smile, smart mouth, and bad habit of ‘borrowing’ his jerseys—nevermind her stupid cat who won’t stop sleeping in his bed—one thing’s for certain:

Ally is officially a distraction.

…She’s moving across the country to start over.

The rumors say she’s a bad girl, but they’re all lies. Lies that have ruined her reputation.

So when Ally’s offered a fresh start in San Francisco, she packs up her life and brings her baggage out west—emotional and otherwise.

Living in a swanky loft with three NHL players is a world away from college dorms, but at least two of her new roommates treat her like one of the guys.

And then there’s Noah. The grump whose broody glances turn her blood hot. Who makes her feel both safe and sexy…when he’s not icing her out.

As things between Noah and Ally heat up, their walls come down. And suddenly, there’s a whole lot more than his rookie season on the line…

Allegra was heading west for a new start after being unable to complete her degree due to fallout from a traumatic event. Noah was starting his career in the NHL. Both were lucky enough to land in Loft 3B where they found comfort and healing together.

I love all these book that are aging up child characters we met in previous books. It thrills me to see how those kids turned out. I did not read Allegra's book (yet!), but I loved Desire or Defense and was excited to revisit Noah and the other characters from that book.

You know what else I loved? All the people living in the loft. They had a great vibe and the found family element was strong. Fisher and Penn was wonderful big brothers to Allegra as well as steadfast friends to Noah. Both Ally and Noah experienced a great deal of growth as they opened their hearts to each other, and I was proud of them. I thought they made an amazing couple and was cheering for them every step of the way.

I enjoyed, but was surprised, by the jump ahead ending since there appears to be more books planned for this group. Anyhow, it was very sweet and touching, and yes, I shed some happy tears. I am eager to read Penn and Fishers books, so I am crossing my fingers that they happen.

This Christmas, the Balfour family will have more secrets to unwrap than presents…

Becky is stranded at the airport, so when she bumps into her brother’s best friend, Will, and he suggests they drive home together, Becky reluctantly agrees. For the first time, Becky is dreading Christmas, and only Will knows why. Can she trust him to keep her secret?

Her twin sister, Rosie, married Declan after a whirlwind romance, and now the cracks are starting to appear. Rosie and Declan have agreed to hide their problems from her family, but Rosie’s insecurities are growing. Will this Christmas bring them closer or drive them apart?

Hayley can’t wait for her first Balfour family Christmas with Jamie. The Balfour Christmas traditions sound wonderful, but she’s worried about her place in this close-knit family. Will there be room for her too? And how will they react to the secret she and Jamie have been keeping?

Despite everyone’s best intentions, all the chaos and confusion could derail their normally happy holidays. Can they tell each other the truth in time to enjoy a perfect family Christmas?

I always enjoy a holiday book, and this family had three generations gathered for the holiday season. It was filled with lots of celebrating and chaos. I absolutely loved being a part of this family's celebration, but it seemed everyone was hiding something, and the truth was bound to come out. Big changes were afoot for this family, and it was great that they had this time to tackle those changes together.

Hayley (brother's girlfriend) won my heart with her backstory while Jennifer (mom) stole my heart with how much effort she was putting forth to make this an amazing first family Christmas for Hayley. It was very sweet. Grandma with her zero filter was a hoot, but my favorite storyline was probably Becky and Will.

Will was the brother's best friend, and they had all grown up together. He and Becky ended up traveling back to their hometown with one another due to a series of events, and you know how these things go. Past feelings rose to the surface, and the time was NOW! Will may have agreed to fake dating, but his intentions were real, and you know what? He was PERFECT for Becky even if she didn't know it. I adored him and his big beautiful heart.

Overall: This book was tons of fun. It made me laugh, warmed my heart, and filled me with joy.
