Top Ten Tuesday - Big Impressions

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Big Impressions!

Happy Tuesday! We were supposed to talk about books to help get you out of a reading slump. I honestly never experienced a reading slump, so I decided to feature some books that left an impression on me. These are books that live rent-free in my head. There was something about them that left an indelible mark on me. The very first one that popped into my head was The Nightingale. Mention of that book drives me to tears! But the others are more recent reads. I will admit, many are somewhat sad, but they also made me think deeply about something. There were a lot of books that made me ponder what is important in life or what makes a life or the impact one can make in others' lives. Some made me reflect on my mortality, and a few were about choosing happiness and acts of kindness. Regardless of theme, I can quickly relive the feelings each of these books left me with, and I consider myself lucky to have read these books.

  1. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
  2. Small Things by Claire Keegan
  3. What Does It Feel Like? by Sophie Kinsella
  4. The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley by Courtney Walsh
  5. The Measure by Nikki Erlick
  1. One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  2. The Midnight Library by MattHaig
  3. Pack Up the Moon by Kristan Higgins
  4. The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
  5. The Deal of a Lifetime by Fredrick Backman

    1. He has such a gift and his observations of people and their humanity are very keen.

  3. The Nightingale - so heartbreaking! A lot of TJR's early books left a big impression on me - not that I don't love her newer books, but those earlier ones felt so relatable.

  5. Same. I never experience reading slumps, which I didn't think was weird until today when reading everyone else's posts. Apparently, reading slumps happen to almost every one! Who knew?

I've read three of these books: THE NIGHTINGALE, THE STORIED LIFE OF A.J. FIKRY, and THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY. I loved the first two and was pretty meh about the other one. The first two definitely made a big impression on me. Great list!

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

    1. I have seen split opinions on The Midnight Library, but I loved it. There were aspects of the story that really resonated with me.
