Top 10 of 2019: Looking Forward to in 2020

It's the end of the year, and that means BEST OF lists! I find this task difficult, but I enjoy it so much.

Top 10 of 2019 is a hosted by Kimberly Faye Reads and Ginger. Today's  topic is...

Looking Forward to in 2020!

As the queen of my enormous TBR kingdom, I happily added many, many, MANY 2020 releases. Seriously, I have 226 books on my 2020 shelf (21 already read), so this was by no means, an easy task. There are some favorite authors FINALLY releasing new work, after what seems like forever (though it really wasn't). There are some sequels, that I need like air, because the previous book left me in such a state. There are a LOT of new voices I am interested to try. I am sure I will be uttering, "too many books, too little time," at some point this year, but I also hope to stack my read-shelf with a bunch of 5-star books. I opted to keep this one all YA, and plan to do a similar post for my anticipated adult reads at a later date.

What books are you looking forward to in 2020?

    1. I always love finding the good books, or rather, the good books finding me. I never rewatch, but I hope you enjoy all your boxed sets. Happy New Year to you too!

  2. I am also looking forward to the new Rachel Lynn Solomon - her last two books were solid hits for me. Jenn Bennett and Sandhya Menon are pretty much auto reads for me too!

    1. I think it's the last contemporary she is contracted for, but I really hope she has more contemporary stories for us in the future.

    1. I will read any and all books set in the WDMR world and Acevedo has easily earned her way onto my auto-read list. Her books are amazing

  8. A lot on this list are new to me except for Today Tonight Tomorrow, Chasing Lucky (looking forward to this one though) and 10 Things I Hate About Pinky. These covers are so pretty though. Now that I think about it, a lot of the books you post/talk about here have some of the prettiest covers I've seen.

    1. I am a self professed cover-ho, but honestly, the pubs are getting some really great creative people involved. The power of a good cover! I keep putting my wish out into the universe, that I get approved for Chasing Lucky, because I don't think I can wait until its release.

  10. Oh, I want Chasing Lucky! 10 Things I Hate About Pinky sounds like fun, too. I'd probably do the audio because I loved her audio of her first book. Now the title escapes me and I'm too lazy to look it up right now. Lol! Hope you enjoy the holiday, Sam! :)

    1. I think I read all Menon's books, but it's likely I will get rejected for that, and then, maybe I will hold out for the audio at my library. (Her first book was When Dimple Met Rishi - it started my love affair with Menon's writing)

  11. This is All Your Fault sounds excellent - I've added it in my tbr. :)

    1. Whoo hoo! Glad you found something of interest on my list. There were a bunch of things that attracted me to that story - all in one day, saving an indy store, female friendship. I love the sound of it all

  12. Love & Olives? Seriously? Santorini is one of my favorite places I haven't been to yet (haha) plus I loved Love & Gelato, so I will be all over this!

    1. Obviously, her YA contemporaries are my faves, but I enjoyed her Roaring Twenties books. They're paranormal historical romances, which is not normally my jam, but Bennett does her magic, and I'm all in

  16. These look like cute reads! My 2020 TBR includes Stormlight Archive #4 by Brandon Sanderson (need to read #2 and #3 first!), A Bond Undone by Jin Yong, House of Earth & Blood by Sarah J. Maas, and Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth.

    1. One of my co-bloggers loves Sanderson, and his books get lots of praise. I am interested in hearing about Roth's first adult book. Hope all of these are winners for you

  17. Most of these are new to me! I am trying not to look at too many 2020 releases so I can focus on what I already have but it is hard. Of course, I still have a list that includes Sarina Bowen, Patricia Briggs, Harlan Coben, Ilona Andrews, and many more :)

    1. "I am trying not to look at too many 2020 releases" <-- I could never do this! I have been adding 2020 books to my TBR since the beginning of last year. I actually pre-ordered the new Bowen book (comes out this month). I am such a fan of the True North books.

  18. Bwahahha I already have jotted down a list with "books awaited" in 2020 and it's long too Sam! I think I'll publish into" fisrt hald" and "second half" of 2020. It will probably rival your TBR ...or not!

    1. Every year, it seems more and more amazing books get published. It's good to break your anticipated list up. I think all of these are being published between Feb and June.
