BOOKS I WISH I HAD READ IN 2018
Every year, I want to read EVERY book, but unfortunately, I cannot read them. Here are ten 2018 releases I wish I had read and SWEAR to catch up on with my throwback challenge. The books from this list are a combination of my 2018-TBR, Can't-Wait Wednesday picks, and most anticipated books of 2018.
- A Prom to Remember by Sandy Hall
- Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake
- Everywhere You Want to Be by Christina June
- Allied by Amy Tintera
- The Disappearance of Sloane Sullivan by Gia Cribbs
- Love Scene, Take Two by Alex Evansley
- The Key to Everything by Paula Stokes
- Save the Date by Morgan Matson
- The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas
- Lies You Never Told Me by Jennifer Donaldson
I really liked A Prom to Remember and Save the Date. I wanted to read the Cheerleaders too and hope to get to it next year.
ReplyDeleteProm and Date are pretty much sure things, because I own those books. I do not have the Cheerleaders, nor does my eLibrary, but maybe they will get it at some point next year.
DeleteMay the magic of Christmas fill your heart with warmth and love.
ReplyDeleteThere were way too many books I never got to this year so I must do better next year! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteTruth! I tried to pick books I still really, really want to read, and most of which I own. Merry Christmas to you too!
DeleteI always have a long list of books that I wish I had been able to read. My daughter is reading The Cheerleaders now and is enjoying it. I hope you can get to all of these soon, Sam. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI read Thomas' first book (loved it!), and I bought her second book a while back. I just tend to crowd out my reading with ARCs, but I am making more of an effort to request less, so I can read more library and shelf books.
DeleteI haven’t read any of these, either. When you do read them, I hope you love them!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Have are sure bets, and they are authors I have liked in the past. Seems promising.
DeleteI've only read The Cheerleaders from this list. It's trippy.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
That's one of the books I don't have, nor does the eLibrary, but I am hoping I catch it on sale or something.
DeleteLove Scene, Take Two looks cute! I haven't read any of the others though.
ReplyDeleteAnother one of the books I don't own. --sigh-- It sounds like something I would really enjoy, though.
DeleteHmmm... there are a lot of books I wanted to read this year but haven't gotten around to, yet. A Thousand Perfect Notes, The Poppy War, Starfish... but 2019 is a great year for books too! In 2018, I read a lot of series from the beginning that I won't need to next year.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Starfish was really good. I am glad I made time for that one.
DeleteOoh, The Cheerleaders was a good one! Hope you get to these soon!
ReplyDeleteThat's one I don't have access to right now, but I am hoping it will go on sale at one point. Until then, I have Little Monsters to read.
DeleteThe Cheerleaders WAS good, I agree w/ Angela. And Lies You Never Told Me I'm trying to read before the end of the year here- I was going to read it months ago! Yikes...
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fabulous Christmas!!!
I have had Lies forEVER. I am bad with physical books, but it sounds really good. I hope we both get to it soon.
DeleteHope you had a wonderful Christmas! Oh yeah, I have tons of 2018 releases I wish I had gotten around to. City of Ghosts, Pride, and What If It's Us top my list. I agree with Greg and Angela about The Cheerleaders. Girl Made of Stars and Save the Date were both really good too.
ReplyDeleteI liked Pride. I really hope to get a copy of The Cheerleaders at some point, because I like Thomas' books.
DeleteI wish that I had read A Prom to Remember as well. It just sounds like a fun read that I know that will be enjoyable. I hope that 2019 has room for some of these books for you. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnother book I won, but I don't tend to read my physical books. The font looks big enough for me, and I really want to read it. I think I am doing a whole prom thing in May, so that should definitely make the cut then.
DeleteI haven't read any of these but I love the cover for The Disappearance of Sloane Sullivan by Gia Cribbs :)
ReplyDeleteSloane Sullivan is a mystery and it sounds quite good. I have a physical book, which is probably why it has yet to be read, but I think I am going to borrow the ebook from my library just to make sure I read it.
DeleteOh Save The Date! I hope you'll get to read that one next year, it was such a wonderful contemporary, I loved it <3
ReplyDeleteI have that book. It just slipped through the cracks last year. It's a definite for me.
DeleteI wanted to read the cheerleaders and the girl made of stars too! Oh man! SO many books! I'll need to reincarnate many times to read them all!
ReplyDeleteI have Girl Made of Stars on reserve. I am excited about that one. I know it will be really emotional, but Blake impressed me with Ivy Aberdeen, and I keep hearing raves about it.
DeleteI see a few that you have me adding to my reading list. :-)
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
I hope you find time to read them, because they sound great.
DeleteTop one million books I wish I could have read in 2018 ... Oh, wait. Too much? :-)
ReplyDeleteEverywhere You Want to Be is one I definitely meant to get to but never quite managed it.
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Yep. That number is more accurate for me too. They have Everywhere at the library, and I am thinking of reading it either when June's new book comes out or as part of the retelling challenge.
DeleteI have so many that I want to read. I should make a list like this to put it into some type of order of what to read. But, I think this new year (I have agreed to 4/5) to read and review for tours but after those, I want to read some of my back logged books. =)
ReplyDeleteMary
You have a lot of self control. I already have 83 2019 eARCs, and I signed up for like 6 tours, BUT I have 3 of the tour reviews written and another 16 Jan ARCs read. So, I am doing ok. I have been getting to my backlist via my One Old, One New feature. It's the best thing I have done lately.
DeleteHoly beejeebers Sam! This comment caught my eye as I was typing my other comment and I have to just screech, 83 eARCS??!!! That'd be almost my entire years reading! You are one brave lady... And prolific reader :)
DeleteNicci - I have already read 424 books this year. I read a lot, long commute.
DeleteThis is more than my entire year of reading! HOlY MOLY Sam! You are a super star! =)
DeleteWe all have different levels of responsibility. I have no husband, no small children, and a really long daily commute. You have school and a family AND you still get reading in. I think that's awesome.
DeleteOMG! I've actually read one of these! lol A Prom to Remember was pretty good. It's not my usual cup of tea but I thought it was charming. I hope you do find the time to read it.
ReplyDeleteLove Scene, Take Two by Alex Evansley is one that I've been liking the look of and want to read in 2019 too.
I have A Prom to Remember and I love Sandy Hall. It's just that I am slow to read physical books, because the whole struggle I have with fonts and my wrists and what not. I am trying to really prioritize these books though.
DeleteI mean, I wish I read like ALL of the books? The Key to Everything was cute, I think you'd like that one for sure. I wish I'd read the FIRST Ruined book, which I have had since like, 1934, and have been saying I wanted to read since then, oopsie. Bet you $20 I'll still be saying it next year, too 😂 I also meant to read Cheerleaders, and Lies You NEver Told Me. Ugh, oops? I hope you get to these soon though!
ReplyDeleteI actually pre-ordered The Key to Everything, which is not something I normally do, and then, I didn't read it, because I suck. I really liked book 1 and 2 of Ruined, and should totally let myself know how it ended, but that goes into a deeper psychological problem I have with finishing series. I hope one of us reads some of these books. I heard they were good.
DeleteWhat a great list! Girl Made of Stars and Save the Date are two of my favorite books that were published this year. I loved them and I think you will, too!
ReplyDeleteI have Save the Date and I am on the Hold List for Girl Made of Stars, so, any day now.
DeleteIt's so hard to get to every book we want to read, right? There needs to be more hours in the day!
ReplyDeleteI really do read a lot too, but I get easily distracted. I am trying (seriously) to request less, so I can get to more of my backlist. I just can't resist some of these books.
DeleteReading every book is hard and I see at least one on this list I planned to read this year too. I totally intended to read Save the Date, the good reviews came rolling in, my preorder arrived... and then I never read it. Maybe 2019 will be the year it happens.
ReplyDeleteI saw that every blogger and their grandma were reviewing Save the Date, and I just put it off to read books nobody else seemed to be reading. I will read it though, because I love Matson books.
DeleteI also wish I had read A Prom to Remember and also the Cheerleaders. Both of them are ones I ahve read such promising reviews of that I cannot wait to read them myself. Hopefully you will be able to get around to read these ten in the coming year ^.^
ReplyDeleteI own Prom, so chances are good for that one. Still don't have Cheerleaders, nor does my eLibrary, but maybe it will go on sale or something.
DeleteA Prom to Remember was one of my favorite books last year, hope you are able to get to it! Maybe in time for prom season this year? :-) In case you haven't checked out my list yet, HERE is my list of books I wish I'd read in 2018.
ReplyDeleteI started looking into a prom theme reading week last year, and want to make it happen this year. My biggest problem is I won a copy of Prom and I just don't tend to really pick up my physical books. I prefer ebooks, but my eLibrary never gets any Swoon titles.
DeleteLove Scene Take Two made me so happy. I felt like I read most of it with a big smile on my face. :) I just loved Teddy.♥
ReplyDeleteMy eLibrary never gets any Swoon titles. I am hoping Macmillan does another big Swoon ebook sale at some point.
