2019 ANTICIPATED READS
I have already read more than ten 2019 releases, but don't worry, I have 411 on my TBR. I checked back on my anticipated reads from 2018, and I am happy to report I read them all. One thing I can say about this list is that every one of these books is on the list, because I absolutely loved previous books by the authors. Many of these authors are on my go-to list, and I am so, so happy I get to read more of their books. Without further ado, here are ten of my most anticipated 2019 YA releases.
- Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
- There's Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon
- Rayne & Delilah's Midnight Matinee by Jeff Zentner
- Virtually Yours by Sarvenaz Tash
- When Summer Ends by Jessica Pennington
- We Are the Perfect Girl by Ariel Kaplan
- How Not to Ask a Boy to Prom by S.J. Goslee
- Field Notes on Love by Jennifer E. Smith
- Call It What You Want by Brigid Kemmerer
- Maybe This Time by Kasie West
I'm waiting for the new Alison Weir novel in paperback about Jane Seymour and the next Extinction Trials book. I'm excited for both!
ReplyDeleteThe Extinction Trials seems to have been well received. I see it everywhere.
DeleteOh we share some!!! Rayne and Delilah and Call It What You Want didn't make my list but I am excited for them too!
ReplyDeleteSo far, Zentner is 2 for 2 for me. I really like his storytelling, and Kemmerer's contemporaries just hit the spot for me.
DeleteWishing you all a very happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteMay the coming year be special in every way… bringing you the gift of love and excitement.
Ryoma.
Thanks! I hope your year is amazing too.
DeleteThese posts are so bad for my TBR list. It’s been growing out of control lately. I hope you love all these!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I have so many 2019 books on my TBR. I will never be able to read them all, but a girl can dream.
DeleteWhat lovely eye-catching covers! I'm very excited for Sweetie! Love Sandhya's books so much! I hope all these wind up being amazing for you! :)
ReplyDeleteI was rejected for Sweetie. One of my cry-in-the-fetal-position rejections, but I think my library will get it. So, I will read it at some point.
DeleteI can't wait for Serious Moonlight either!
ReplyDeleteI hope my library gets it, and that I am not on the wait list for the rest of my life. Or, maybe someone in my family will actually buy me a bookish gift. It could happen.
DeleteSo many pretty covers! I need to get to Jean Bennett soon.
ReplyDeleteI have read all her published YA and have been working through her adult backlist. She just writes great books.
DeleteI hope you get to read and love each and every one Sam.
ReplyDeleteI already read Serious moonlight, and I have How Not to Ask a Boy to Prom and it sounds adorable. And of course I want to read Sweetie!
Karen @ For What It's Worth
I loved Goslee's debut, and cannot wait to see what she has in store for me.
DeleteAll the colorful covers would make an awesome poster or background. :) I haven't read the last few by Kasie West but Maybe This Time looks cute.
ReplyDeleteI can't not read a Kasie West book. Lucky in Love was my least favorite, and it still got 4-stars from me. They are fun and cute and warm me up. I like reading her books.
DeleteI've been so out of the loop and only know about the new release by the author of When Dimple Met Rishi, which is one on my shelf waiting for me to read! I hope you will be able to get around to all of these and I will be eagerly awaiting your reviews because I want to know more about them. Happy New Year <3
ReplyDeleteThis is a hardcore wish list. I have NONE of these books and have already been rejected on EW for several of them. Just hoping to get on a tour or that my library gets them.
DeleteI'm definitely excited for the Jenn Bennett book and I've been eyeing Rayne & Delilah's Midnight Matinee ever since I first saw the cover a while back. I can't wait to see what you think of that one.
ReplyDeleteZentner's books have been winners for me, so I am all in on Rayne.
DeleteIt looks like you have some great books to look forward to. I do have Jenn Bennett on my list, she has so many books :) HAPPY NEW YEAR
ReplyDeleteJenn Bennett books make me happy, and I am all about being as happy as possible.
DeleteRayne & Delilah's Midnight Matinee... I need it. SO BADLY. And Serious Moonlight too, but really Rayne & Delilah's Midnight Matinee. I do hope you get to read all of them soon! Also, I am wildly impressed that you read all of your most anticipated! I... absolutely did not hah!
ReplyDeleteI know. I really need the next Zentner book too. It sound brilliant. I track my Can't Wait Wednesday and my anticipated reads to see if I actually read them, and I was impressed that I at least knocked out those 10 I really wanted to read from last year. Most were great, but even the ones that didn't knock me out were good.
DeleteI am trying hard not to look to closely at many 2019 books. Need to get caught up with some older books :) I do see a Zentner book on your and I have liked his work in the past so I might have to look a bit harder at that one.
ReplyDeleteI am making an effort to limit ARC requests. I am trying to stay under 15 per month, which is less than half the books I read, but it is hard. I legit want to read so many books.
DeleteThese all look so fun! I'm behind on Kasie West's books, but they're always light, entertaining reads. I like to sandwich them between heavier tomes for a little variety.
ReplyDeleteI will always read all her books
DeleteI love your choices for BOTB! I want to read quite a few of them! Enjoy the new year!
ReplyDeleteMary
I hope you had fun ringing in the new year and may 2019 be filled with lots of great things for you!
DeleteI'm looking forward to more from Menon as well! Happy reading this year!
ReplyDeleteHer books are always fun with just enough drama to keep it interesting.
DeleteI do a lot of most anticipated books lists, but I'm never able to read them all. So happy you did it! :) Those are some fluffy romances. I'm quite interested in There's Something About Sweetie.
ReplyDeleteTânia @MyLovelySecret
I read the 10 from my year end top 10 post last year, but I have not read all my Can't Wait Wed books, though, I read a lot of them. Fluffy romances are my sweet spot. I will forever love them.
DeleteI am so excited for Sweetie. I love how Sandhya Menon's covers just instantly make me smile. Hope all these end up being great reads for you!
ReplyDeleteHer covers are great! They capture the feeling of the book so well.
DeleteVirtually Yours was almost on my list! You've got some great ones here! You can check out my Top 10 most anticipated 2019 books HERE.
ReplyDeleteIt's been too long since we've gotten a book from Tash, and I loved Geek's Guide so much.
Deleteoh they all look awesome! Especially "we are the Perfect Girl" contemporary retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac?? YES! Can't wait to see all your reviews!
ReplyDeleteI recently read a Cyrano retelling. They're everywhere right now, huh? I really want to read that book, because I have loved the author's previous books.
DeleteI really want to read Rayne & Delilah's Midnight Matinee by Jeff Zentner!!!

I don't think I will ever NOT want to read a Zentner book.
DeleteOMG, yesSssssssssss to Serious Moonlight. I cannot wait!! I don't know a super big amount of these, but they seem quite intriguing, and I definitely need to investigate! Great post, Sam! :)
ReplyDeleteGetting rejected for Serious Moonlight was a really dark day for me. I am hoping my library gets it in eBook format quickly.
