Sundays with Sam - The Sunday Post

Sundays with Sam is a combination of Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

My Week in Review

Happy Sunday! Hope the day is treating your well. Not much to report here. Went to work, weather has been ok, tried another new restaurant this week. I have been working hard to find places my dad could like. He says he's not picky but he is. I found he likes the ones that have beer more than the ones that don't. He really likes if they have foreign beers too. I am still trying to figure out if he enjoyed that Polish pub for the food or the Polish beer.

Stacking the Shelves

A light week. I downloaded the free Romance Reads Club book and a freebie from Amazon that had been on my wishlist. I also got an invite for the new Emily Harding which I actually requested and miraculously got approved for a while back. Very excited about this book.

Read Last Week

I really enjoyed everything I read this week.

I was excited to see that The Roommate Rule was set in the same world as The Friendship Fling with character crossovers and everything. It was a nice catch-up, and I enjoyed being on the coast of Wales as this new couple fell in love.

Johnston knows how to write stories about seniors that are warm and tug at my heartstrings. As with Frederick FifeLemons also had a few surprising twists.

I adore Lia Louis, and this was another good one for me. I LOVED the beginning, and then something terrible happened, but then it was fate! I am never a fan of that third act break-up, but the make-up made up for it.

Experiments in Offline Dating has a great setup - a podcaster who has had no results after years of online dating decides to go OFFLINE entrusting the task to an Irish matchmaker. As always, Irish phonetics have my head spinning, but once I figured out how to say all their names, I settled in and had a great time traveling throughout Ireland.

  1. It's easy then...go for the ones that have the most recommended beers! 😉

Oh to be a lamb. I can barely zombie-walk these days (not that I'm particularly sprightly the rest of the year, but the heat gave me the fatal blow).

    1. Not a great selection of beer at the place we went (he liked European beers) but the pizza was excellent. Coal fired. So good.

  4. A calm, uneventful week is the best kind! My husband likes a good beer, too! Hope you find a good restaurant for your dad!

  5. Should be easy to find a place that has the beer he likes then. That's funny.

    1. But he has to like the food too. I have been sticking to American and pan-European, but I like other stuff.
